Product Manager, Shipping/Logistics

About The Team

We are passionate about connecting buyers and sellers around the world and creating opportunities through commerce and technology. Our responsibilities include all aspects of logistics, to empower sellers through innovative shipping tools. You'll be joining a team with a global remit to make shipping easy and fun for all our sellers - from individuals trying to declutter their home, to larger businesses handling several 1,000s of packages per day.

About The Role

eBay is seeking a Product Manager to lead strategy and execution for our shipping carrier integrations, powering label purchase, label cancellation, tracking, billing, and delivery experiences used across our ecosystem. You will own the lifecycle of carrier products-from identifying partner opportunities and designing integration requirements to launching new services and continuously optimizing performance.

In this role, you'll ensure carrier integrations are reliable, compliant, scalable, and aligned with eBay's global shipping strategy. You will partner closely with engineering, regional business teams, carrier partners, and internal operational groups to deliver high-quality solutions that impact millions of shipments. Ideally, you have experience working directly with shipping carriers or logistics providers, negotiating and implementing their technical requirements, and driving measurable improvements in cost, speed, or process efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and drive the product strategy and roadmap for shipping carrier integrations, ensuring eBay offers a competitive, reliable, and globally scalable set of carrier services.
  • Develop and maintain deep understanding of carrier technical capabilities, APIs, service catalogs, compliance requirements, surcharges, and operational SLAs.
  • Lead end-to-end integration of existing and new carriers, new services, and new geographies.
  • Partner with business teams to vet technical feasibility during partnership discussions and support contract negotiations with product input.
  • Translate carrier specifications into clear product requirements, and implementation plans for internal engineering teams.
  • Define success metrics, KPIs, and track performance. Liaise with internal operations, 3rd party vendors, business teams to identify opportunities, business problems and assess their impact.
  • Manage ongoing performance of carrier integrations, including error rate reduction, cost optimization, tracking quality, label success rates, and throughput.
  • Collaborate with developers and technical writers to drive onboarding and provide support.
  • Write clear product requirements, user stories, and API specifications. As the Product Owner, provide clear product vision to your scrum team and co-lead the Agile scrum team with engineering counterpart to execute on roadmap with clear milestones
  • Clearly set the product/backlog prioritisation with a balance of near-term deliverables and longer-term investment in technology platforms
  • Effectively communicate strategies & trade-offs up to senior leaders and down to development team

Job Requirements

  • Hands-on experience with agile development process
  • Experience managing or building integrations with logistics carriers (e.g., Royal Mail, UPS, FedEx, DHL, regional carriers) or shipping platforms.
  • Strong understanding of carrier APIs, label generation flows, tracking events, service levels, billing logic, and compliance requirements.
  • Ability to interpret carrier technical documentation and translate it into internal platform requirements.
  • Skilled at analyzing operational and performance data to drive decisions, improvements, and business cases.
  • Manage and optimise business processes to free up developers
  • Asks the right questions to formulate product perspective and present requirements
  • Balances technical and business acumen; able to communicate what is possible and what will have the biggest impact on business
  • Builds positive relationships internally and externally; an active listener and clear communicator

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of product management experience, preferably with ownership of logistics, transportation, or carrier-facing products.
  • Proven success delivering high-impact shipping, carrier, or e-commerce platform integrations at scale.
  • Strong understanding of API-driven systems, authentication models, and integration lifecycle.
  • Experience with backend product platform development, ability to translate a feature requirement into a backend platform capability.
  • Familiarity with agile development, technical prioritization, and backlog management.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with SQL, Tableau, or experimentation platforms.
  • Background working directly with carriers, shipping platforms, multicarrier solutions, or marketplace logistics ecosystems.
