Role Overview
This role focuses on defining and delivering a digital product within the MCCY Ministry Family, from requirements through to release. The Product Manager owns the backlog and roadmap, works closely with design and engineering, and uses research and data to guide decisions that serve the product's users.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Own the product backlog and roadmap across the product's key user journeys
- Translate user research, stakeholder needs, and policy requirements into clear product requirements and user stories
- Prioritise features based on user needs, impact, and delivery constraints
- Design for the full range of users the product serves, accounting for their differing needs and contexts
- Define success metrics and track product performance, using data to inform decisions
- Plan and run discovery and validation activities, and translate findings into product improvements
- Partner with designers, researchers, and engineers to move features from concept through to release
- Manage stakeholders across teams, communicating product direction and rationale clearly
Qualifications & Skill Sets
- At least 5 years of experience in product management, with a track record of shipped digital products
- Strong product craft across requirements definition, backlog prioritisation, and roadmapping
- Comfortable working with data to inform decisions and measure outcomes
- Hands-on discovery and user research experience, including planning, running, and acting on findings
- Experience delivering workflow- or management-type systems (dashboards, records, scheduling) is an advantage
- Familiarity with agile delivery and working closely with design and engineering
- Clear communicator, able to articulate product rationale to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Prior experience in a government or public sector context is an advantage
