eGov Foundation is a 20-year-old tech-for-good organisation founded by Nandan Nilekani and Srikanth N to use technology to improve the delivery of public services and governance at scale and speed. Our goal To make public services more equitable, efficient, and transparent across 30 countries by. We currently work with 7 national and 16 sub-national governments and impact the lives of over 1 billion citizens, in sectors such Public Finance, Water, Sanitation, Urban, Public Health, Social benefits, among others. We do this through our core offering DIGIT (Digital Infrastructure for Governance, Inclusion & Transformation), which is a digital public good. The Challenge and the Mission

Government projects often experience delays and cost overruns compared to the private sector, leading to incomplete infrastructure and wasted resources. This inefficiency stems from a complex process that transfers funds between government levels, causing uncertainty for recipients like schools and hospitals and placing an administrative burden on staff. Despite advances in public finance management (PFM) through digital platforms that enhance internal efficiencies, there's still untapped potential. These systems improve cash management and expenditure tracking but fall short of the broader goal: ensuring faster, smarter spending that delivers tangible benefits to citizens.

The Role

As the Product Manager for our PFM initiatives, you will play a pivotal role in defining and evolving the Integrated Fiscal Information Exchange (iFIX) specifications and creating products and/ or defining standards that help governments improve financial health and enhance service delivery to citizens. Collaborating within cross-functional teams and partners across the PFM ecosystem, you will develop a deep understanding of the challenges in public finance. Your role will span the entire product lifecycle - from problem framing and defining the product vision to driving execution, launch, and growth.

What You'll Do:

• Drive Product Vision and Strategy:
• Develop and articulate a compelling product vision for iFIX, aligning with the PFM Mission and user needs to inspire change in the public finance ecosystem.
• Conduct domain and user research to identify pain points and opportunities, ensuring the product narrative resonates with stakeholders.
• Communicate the product vision and strategy effectively to stakeholders within the organisation and externally to secure buy-in.
• Lead Product Design and Development:
• Lead the product design and development process, collaborating with designers, developers, and domain experts to ensure that iFIX is built effectively and adopted widely.
• Maintain alignment with project timelines and budgets, fostering a culture of accountability throughout the product life cycle.
• Own the documentation process for internal and external stakeholders, ensuring it is integrated into the product's development and adoption strategy from the start.
• Champion Product Launch and Evolution:
• Spearhead the growth and adoption of iFIX, ensuring it delivers measurable value to users and meets their needs.
• Develop and implement comprehensive product launch plans, including training and communication strategies that engage stakeholders at all levels.
• Track and monitor product performance using key metrics to measure success, and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Engage and Collaborate with Stakeholders:
• Build and nurture a community of contributors and partners to enhance product capabilities and drive engagement.
• Communicate product progress and insights to the leadership team, advocating for iFIX internally and externally through webinars, forums, and other channels.

You're a great fit if you have:

• Passion for Social Impact: You are committed to using technology for social good.
• Product Management Experience: You bring 6+ years of experience in different aspects of product development and management, from problem discovery to design, development, and launch, with a proven track record of taking products from concept to scale. You excel in user research, prioritisation, and prototyping.
• Domain Understanding: Knowledge of Public Financial Management (PFM) or related fields, with a strong understanding of the PFM cycle across both revenue and expenditure streams.
• Technical and Analytical Skills: Familiarity with financial management systems and an understanding of data standards would be an advantage.
• Strong Communication and Interpersonal Skills: You have excellent written and verbal communication skills, and are proactive.
• Agile Mindset: You thrive in a fast-paced, agile environment and have experience working closely with cross-functional teams.
