TANUH (Translational AI for Networked Universal Healthcare) is an IISc-anchored Section 8 Company on a mission to ensure that frontline healthcare delivery workers have access to AI and digital technologies that truly work to support them and to help AI solution providers scale based on clear evidence of health system impact. We are funded by the Ministry of Education and google.org and function as an AI Centre of Excellence.
Role :You will own the product experience for the people at the heart of India's public health system, the frontline health workers (ASHAs, ANMs, and MPWs) who are performing AI-enabled NCD screenings in primary health centres and in the community. Your job is to ensure that every tool and workflow we put into their hands wins their trust and actually works clinically and operationally in the real conditions of frontline healthcare delivery.
You will be responsible for understanding frontline health workers deeply to identify what to build next, defining outcomes clearly enough that engineers can build it well, and iterating fast enough that evidence of impact accumulates with each cycle. You will work directly with the CPO and alongside AI solution providers who want their solutions integrated.
We are looking for someone who is entrepreneurial and action-biased and impatient to push towards impact, while finding ways in a tough environment to win trust from stakeholders. You should have spent significant time in a field environment making technology work in community health or similar areas such as agricultural extension, microfinance or similar domains.
Job Description• Spend meaningful time in the field with FLWs, observing how they use our screening tools. Translate these observations into product insights and not just bug reports.
• Build and maintain a clear model of the FLW's workday, cognitive load, and motivations. Evaluate every product decision on whether it makes the health worker more effective, or does it add burden
• Work with clinical advisors and AI researchers to understand the screening protocols and model outputs, and translate them into decision support experiences that a CHW with limited formal training can act on confidently.
Define What to Build Next and Why• Own the frontline product roadmap. Make explicit bets about which workflow improvements, which new disease verticals and UX changes will most accelerate screening quality and cascade completion.
• Define clear outcome metrics for every product cycle that goes beyond feature shipping
• Prioritise by triangulating field data, clinical evidence, and engineering feasibility — not by accumulating a backlog of requests.
Drive Iteration Velocity by Collaborating with Engineers• Establish and Manage the rhythm of field testing, feedback, and product iteration across deployment sites
• Write product specs that engineers can build against with clear problem statements, user stories and edge cases.
• Involve engineers early in problem definition
• Use AI tools to prototype and validate ideas quickly before committing engineering effort.
Requirements• 5+ years of product management, programme design, or user-centred design work — ideally in contexts involving frontline workers, low-resource settings, or health/development technology.
• Direct experience with CHW programmes, digital health tools, or field-deployed mobile applications in India or comparable LMIC contexts. Familiarity with the NHM/ASHA/ANM ecosystem is a strong advantage.
• Demonstrated ability to define product outcomes, not just ship features. Show us a time you changed what got built based on what you learned from users.
• Comfort with ambiguity and early-stage environments. TANUH is a non-profit with startup energy — you will not have a mature product organisation around you. You will help build it.
• Proficiency with modern AI and prototyping tools. You should be able to use AI-assisted design and development tools to move fast on validation and concept testing.
