Product Manager Innovation Studio (India Design Center)

Reports To: Senior Director, Growth & Innovation via Local Leader
Role Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Product Manager to join the Fortive Growth and Innovation team within the India Design Center (IDC). This role is pivotal in guiding cross-functional teams through Customer Validation (CV) and Business Model Validation (BMV) processes, while also supporting OpCos with Best Practice-style training to elevate product management capabilities across the organisation supporting 0-1 initiatives and large program deliveries.
The ideal candidate will be passionate about accelerating product development, improving handoff quality, and driving measurable impact in development velocity and vitality. This role requires a blend of hands-on product leadership, coaching, and strategic thinking to foster innovation and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coach Studio teams through CV/BMV sprints, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and customer needs.
- Facilitate ideation, MVP definition, and risk burndown activities using lean startup and design thinking methodologies.
- Support OpCos in validating product-market fit and business model viability, leveraging tools like the Innovation Health Index and LPM frameworks.
- Design and deliver PM Bootcamp-style training sessions for OpCo teams, focusing on core product management skills: market analysis, feasibility assessment, and stakeholder communication.
- Coach teams on portfolio management, decision-making under ambiguity, and rapid prototyping strategies.
- Help teams define and refine product roadmaps post-CV/BMV, ensuring readiness for development and launch phases.
- Partner with OpCo leaders, designers, engineers, and data scientists to accelerate product development cycles.
- Integrate IDC talent into global product initiatives, fostering collaboration across geographies and functions.
- Engage with external partners and startups to explore build-vs-buy decisions and enhance innovation velocity.
- Drive improvements in handoff quality between ideation and development phases.
- Track and report on development velocity, vitality, and impact metrics across Studio engagements.
- Contribute to the evolution of Fortive's Innovation Studio playbook and tooling.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in product management, preferably in B2B or enterprise software.
- Startup product delivery is a plus
- Proven track record of leading cross-functional teams through product discovery and validation phases.
- Strong facilitation and coaching skills; experience with PM training or bootcamp-style formats is a plus.
- Familiarity with lean startup, design thinking, and agile methodologies.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience working in global teams and navigating matrixed organisations.
- Comfort with ambiguity and ability to drive clarity and action in complex environments.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with Lean Startup and Agile frameworks and tools.
- Exposure to AI/ML product development or data-driven product strategies.
- Ability to translate AI/ML capabilities into customer value and business impact.
- Understanding of model lifecycle management, data governance, and ethical AI principles.
- Familiarity with Fortive's OpCo ecosystem and innovation processes.
