Job Description

About the Organization

eGovernments Foundation is a leading non-profit organization dedicated to strengthening public service delivery through scalable technology-backed solutions. The Foundation works closely with governments to design, deploy, and sustain digital systems that improve outcomes in health, governance, and public administration.

About the Project

The 10BedICU Project, launched in 2021, focuses on enhancing critical care capacity in district and sub-district hospitals across India. The initiative has established 214+ functional ICUs, supported by centralized Tele-ICU services and powered by the CARE EMR platform Building on this, the project is now piloting CARE HMIS, a modular, interoperable Health Management Information System aligned with national data standards (FHIR, SNOMED CT). The pilot aims to digitize hospital processes across 30 government health facilities, strengthen documentation practices, and enable data-driven decision-making. The National Cancer Grid (NCG) TeleOPD project enables remote oncology consultations between government hospitals and Tata Memorial Hospital using a structured digital platform. It focuses on protocol-based care, standardized documentation, and training of government clinicians to improve access and continuity of cancer care. The pilot is designed for evaluation and scale-up across other NCG centres.

About the work

You will own the product experience for CARE HMIS with CARE AI-Scribe at its centre. Scribe is a voice-powered clinical documentation layer that makes the broader EMR experience seamless for doctors juggling their schedules between their patients.

The role is to make the EMR experience intuitive, reliable, and valuable for clinicians using Scribe based workflows. This means thinking beyond transcription alone: how consultations are captured, how structured notes flow into the EMR, how clinicians review and correct information, how data is mapped to the right fields, how hospitals adopt the workflow, and how states understand usage, cost, and scale-readiness.

You will lead the product journey from pilot to scaling across 154 hospitals in 8 states, with CARE AI-Scribe acting as the anchor use case for improving clinical documentation within CARE HMIS. The core challenge is to build a product experience that reduces documentation burden, fits naturally into hospital workflows, produces trustworthy clinical records, and gives state governments the cost and adoption evidence needed to scale.

The role

  • Own the CARE Scribe product experience: Own the end-to-end clinical documentation workflow across the EMR and AI-Scribe, from consultation capture to structured note review, correction, and submission.
  • Pilot-to-GA roadmap: Define and prioritise the roadmap that takes the combined EMR + Scribe experience from pilot deployment to a stable release.
  • Clinical workflow fit: Ensure Scribe works inside real OPD, ICU, ward, and nursing workflows, rather than as a separate AI feature clinicians must work around.
  • Structured EMR integration: Drive how transcripts are converted into usable clinical records, mapped into the right CARE HMIS fields, and aligned with relevant standards such as FHIR, SNOMED CT, and LOINC where applicable.
  • Cost transparency: Build evidence-based AI usage models, including cost per consultation, doctor, and hospital, supported by usage dashboards and token-level tracking.
  • Product enhancements: Lead the roadmap for noise cancellation, speaker diarisation, multi-model AI routing, language support, EMR mapping, cost dashboards, and feedback-driven usability improvements.
  • Evaluation and success metrics: Define and track accuracy, latency, documentation time saved, correction effort, clinician adoption, satisfaction, cost-efficiency, and EMR completion quality.
  • Field adoption: Work with state teams, hospitals, clinicians, Product Ops, Solution Support, and Clinical Validation teams to drive onboarding, training, feedback loops, and daily usage.
  • Responsible scale-up: Ensure the product is designed with privacy, clinical safety, responsible AI, data quality, and India's health-data expectations in mind.

Who you'll work with

You'll work across product, engineering, DevOps, product operations, solution support, clinical validation, and implementation functions to take CARE AI-Scribe. Externally, you'll engage with state health departments, hospital administrators, doctors, nurses, hospital IT teams, AI model and infrastructure partners, the wider CARE platform ecosystem, and the open-source community. This role requires someone who can connect field realities, clinical needs, technical trade-offs, and government decision-making into a coherent product direction.

What we're looking for

Must-have

  • Proven product management experience taking products from pilot to scale.
  • Strong ability to own a product roadmap, prioritise trade-offs, and drive execution across teams.
  • Comfort owning cost, usage, or unit-economics models and explaining them to budget-holders.
  • Ability to work with AI/ML products and technical teams, including reasoning about speech models, LLM behaviour, evaluations, latency, accuracy, and non-deterministic outputs.
  • Strong user research and field discovery skills, especially with non-technical users in real operating environments.
  • Experience managing complex multi-stakeholder environments across government, public-sector, enterprise, or multi-site deployments.
  • Data-driven product judgement: you define metrics, instrument them, review evidence, and use it to shape the roadmap.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel across states for field deployment, training, validation, and stakeholder engagement.

Nice-to-have

  • Experience in health-tech, clinical documentation, EMR, HMIS, or hospital workflows.
  • Familiarity with FHIR, SNOMED CT, LOINC, ABDM, or other health interoperability standards.
  • Experience with speech, voice, ASR, NLP, LLM, or AI-enabled workflow products.
  • Familiarity with Indian-language AI models such as Bhashini or Sarvam.
  • Experience building multilingual products for Indian users.
  • Experience working in low-resource, public-sector, or multi-state field environments.
  • Understanding of Indian health-data regulation, including DPDP, and responsible-AI governance.
  • Prior experience working with doctors, nurses, hospital administrators, or public health implementation teams.

Why join

CARE AI-Scribe will run in public hospitals that serve patients who need better access to care the most. By reducing clinical documentation burden, the product can help doctors and nurses spend more time with patients and less time entering data.

This is an opportunity to build at the intersection of AI, healthcare, public infrastructure, and open-source digital public goods. Your work will directly support India's ABDM mission and help create a scalable product that state health systems can adopt with confidence.

At eGov Foundation, you will work with a mission-driven team building technology for population-scale public impact.

What We Offer

  • A mission-driven role with national public health impact
  • Full ownership of product initiatives from planning to rollout
  • Collaboration with an interdisciplinary team of engineers, doctors, and public health professionals
  • A chance to contribute to one of India's leading open-source digital health platforms
