Role Summary
We are seeking a seasoned Head Product Engineering & Manufacturing Engineering (PE & ME) to lead end-to-end product industrialization for Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). The role will drive design-to-manufacturing integration, ensuring scalable production, cost optimization, and robust quality systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Product Engineering
- Lead end-to-end engineering of BESS modules, racks, and containerized systems
- Define system architecture including battery cells, BMS, PCS, and EMS integration
- Drive Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA)
- Own DFMEA to identify and mitigate product design risks
- Lead product validation, reliability testing, and certification (IEC / UL / BIS)
Manufacturing Engineering
- Develop manufacturing processes for battery module and rack assembly
- Establish production line layout, tooling, and automation strategy
- Lead PFMEA to identify and mitigate manufacturing process risks
- Drive yield improvement, cycle time reduction, and cost optimization
- Support factory ramp-up and capacity planning
NPI & Industrialization
- Lead New Product Introduction (NPI) from prototype to mass production
- Drive pilot builds and production validation
- Ensure seamless design transfer to manufacturing
- Collaborate with R&D, Quality, and Supply Chain teams
Quality & Compliance
- Implement robust engineering quality frameworks
- Ensure adherence to global safety and compliance standards
- Support certification and regulatory approvals
Leadership
- Build and lead Product Engineering and Manufacturing Engineering teams
- Drive localization and supplier industrialization initiatives
- Partner with cross-functional stakeholders for execution excellence
Qualification & Experience
- Bachelor's / Master's in Electrical / Mechanical / Electronics Engineering
- 15+ years in product & manufacturing engineering
- Experience in BESS / EV battery / energy storage / power electronics preferred
- Proven track record in manufacturing scale-up and industrialization
