Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities:

1. Develop new product designs and modify existing designs based on engineering requirements, ensuring quality and performance standards.
2. Create engineering layouts and 3D models using CAD tools, particularly CREO.
3. Analyse product designs to ensure proper form, fit, function, manufacturability, assembly, and usability.
4. Select appropriate materials, standard components, and engineering specifications for product designs.
5. Coordinate with suppliers and manufacturing teams regarding prototypes, fabrication, materials, and component selection.
6. Prepare and maintain engineering documentation, including Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), Bills of Materials (BOMs), parts lists, and engineering specifications.
7. Estimate timelines for design activities and provide regular project progress updates.
8. Work closely with engineers, manufacturing, purchasing, and other internal teams to complete projects within the required timelines.
9. Ensure accurate design documentation and compliance with established engineering and manufacturing standards.

Key Skills and Requirements

• Engineering degree in Design or relevant equivalent experience.
• Minimum 2+ years of relevant experience in design engineering.
• Strong hands-on experience in CREO.
• Knowledge of parametric modelling is preferred.
• Good understanding of engineering principles and manufacturing processes.
• Ability to design and document products across multiple projects.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
• Experience with SAP and Variant Configuration is an added advantage.
• Knowledge of commercial office furniture, laminate, wood veneer, case goods, or architectural solutions will be an advantage.
