Job Title: Engineer Product Engineering (Mechanical)

Location: Bangalore, India

Experience: 3 5 Years

Education: B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and execute engineering projects across New Product Development (NPD), New Product Transfer (NTP), Quality & Reliability (Q&R), Productivity, and Return-to-Standard (RTS) initiatives.
  • Understand project requirements and collaborate with project owners, global engineering teams, suppliers, and cross-functional stakeholders to achieve project milestones.
  • Ensure successful delivery of projects by meeting quality, delivery, project cost, and product cost targets.
  • Drive concept development, component selection, system integration, and engineering design calculations.
  • Develop and validate structural components and assemblies, including both metal and non-metal parts.
  • Prepare component specifications, Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA), validation plans, and test plans.
  • Participate in concept reviews, critical design reviews, and technical discussions with global teams to resolve engineering challenges.
  • Perform thermal analysis and simulations to predict and optimize HVAC component performance.
  • Create, update, and release engineering documentation including CAD models, drawings, bills of materials (BOMs), and specifications using PLM/PDM systems such as Creo, Windchill, or Teamcenter.
  • Coordinate engineering change implementation and support design modifications throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Support prototype builds, engineering validation, testing activities, and sustaining engineering initiatives.
  • Apply structured problem-solving methodologies to identify root causes and implement effective corrective actions.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining adherence to organizational processes and project management principles.

Required Technical Skills

  • 3 5 years of experience in mechanical product design and development.
  • Experience across complete product lifecycle management and sustaining engineering projects.
  • Hands-on experience with VAVE (Value Analysis/Value Engineering) projects.
  • Strong understanding of thermal engineering fundamentals, thermodynamic cycles, refrigeration principles, and refrigerants.
  • Experience in component selection, concept development, system integration, and design calculations.
  • Knowledge of product development processes, DFMEA preparation, and test plan development.
  • Experience with prototype builds, engineering validation, and product testing.
  • Proficiency in Creo and PLM/PDM tools such as Windchill or Teamcenter.
  • Understanding of metal and non-metal component design, manufacturing processes, assemblies, and material selection.
  • Basic knowledge of electrical systems and components is an added advantage.
  • Familiarity with engineering documentation, drawings, specifications, and bill of materials management.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in HVAC or chiller product development.
  • Exposure to thermal simulation and performance analysis tools.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and product optimization techniques.
  • Experience working with global engineering teams and suppliers.
