Job Summary
We are looking for a skilled and motivated Product Engineer with experience in refrigeration system design, testing, and thermal analysis for Residential Split Air Conditioners. The candidate will support testing and validation activities at the Psychrometric Lab, analyze performance results as per AHRI standards, and contribute to refrigeration system improvement initiatives through teardown analysis and VAVE activities.
The ideal candidate should possess strong knowledge of refrigeration systems, low GWP refrigerants, heat exchanger performance, and thermal engineering tools.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform testing and validation of Residential Split Air Conditioners at the Psychrometric Lab.
- Analyze and document test results in compliance with AHRI standards.
- Support refrigeration system analysis and idea generation during teardown sessions.
- Conduct thermal analysis of refrigeration and airflow systems using simulation tools and empirical calculations.
- Develop and evaluate thermal designs for:
- Heat exchangers
- Flow valves
- Compression systems
- Fans and blowers
- Work on new heat exchanger designs for low GWP refrigerants.
- Analyze boiling and condensation heat transfer characteristics for two-phase fluids across different heat exchanger types.
- Maintain detailed documentation of VAVE activities, findings, and outcomes.
- Prepare and present technical reports and performance analysis to management.
Required Skills- 3 to 5 years of experience in refrigeration system design and testing at Psychrometric Chamber.
- Strong understanding of refrigeration cycles, airflow systems, and thermal engineering concepts.
- Experience with:
- MATLAB
- Dymola
- CFD tools
- Python analytics
- Tableau
- Knowledge of Low GWP and A2L refrigerants.
- Understanding of heat transfer, boiling, and condensation phenomena in HVAC systems.
- Experience in heat exchanger design and analysis.
- Exposure to AHRI standards and HVAC testing methodologies.
- Experience in technical paper submission/publication in thermal sciences is preferred.
