Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Product Engineer - Backport to join our team. This role is crucial for ensuring the stability and compatibility of our products by backporting critical features and fixes across various versions. You will be instrumental in maintaining the integrity and performance of our software, working within the full Software Development Life Cycle.
Job Responsibilities
As a Product Engineer - Backport, you will be responsible for:
- Executing **Action Planning** to prioritize and manage backporting tasks efficiently.
- Performing **Application Development** tasks, including coding, debugging, and testing, specifically for backporting initiatives.
- Conducting thorough **Assessment** of existing codebases to identify suitable backporting strategies and potential impacts.
- Utilizing expertise in **Compiling and Decompiling Code** to understand and adapt software for different versions.
- Configuring and troubleshooting **Computer System Configuration** to support development and testing environments.
- Applying **Digital Literacy** to navigate and utilize various tools and platforms relevant to the role.
- Assisting in the **Document and Model User Requirements** for backported features to ensure functional accuracy.
- Developing and maintaining **Graphical User Interface (GUI)** components during backporting efforts, ensuring consistent user experience.
- Providing **Information Technology (IT) Support** for backport-related issues and deployments.
- Executing comprehensive **IT Testing** plans to validate backported features and fixes, ensuring quality and stability.
- Configuring **Portal Server Configuration** and other system settings as required for backported applications.
- Managing **Program Installation** and updates across different product versions.
- Applying **Versioning** control best practices throughout the backporting process to maintain code integrity.
- Actively participating in all phases of the **Software Development Life Cycle** with a focus on backporting.
- Contributing to **User Experience (UX) Design** considerations when backporting features to ensure consistency and usability.
- Addressing **WAN Switching and Firmware Con**figuration challenges related to backported solutions.
Job Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you should possess:
- Proven experience in software development with a strong focus on backporting and version management.
- Demonstrable expertise in application development and code compilation/decompilation.
- Solid understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Experience with IT testing methodologies and tools.
- Proficiency in computer system configuration and program installation.
- Familiarity with Graphical User Interface (GUI) development and user experience principles.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with an ability to assess complex technical issues.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Knowledge of WAN switching and firmware configuration is a plus.
