Job Description

Position: Fragrance Development Manager (FDM)

About the Role

Seeking Fragrance Development Manager (FDM) to develop innovative fragrance solutions for personal care, home care, fine fragrance, and other consumer product categories. The ideal candidate will work closely with perfumers, customers, marketing, and R&D teams to create fragrances that align with market trends, customer requirements, and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

Fragrance Development

  • Collaborate with perfumers to develop innovative fragrance formulations based on customer briefs.
  • Create cost-effective fragrance solutions for personal care, home care, and fine fragrance applications.
  • Select suitable fragrances from the existing fragrance library or develop new fragrances as per customer requirements.
  • Support fragrance evaluations, modifications, and optimization based on performance and customer feedback.

Market & Consumer Insights

  • Analyze market trends, consumer preferences, and competitor products to identify new fragrance opportunities.
  • Translate marketing concepts and customer insights into commercially successful fragrance solutions.
  • Stay updated on global fragrance trends, raw materials, and industry innovations.

Project Management

  • Manage fragrance development projects from concept through customer approval and commercialization.
  • Coordinate with R&D, Regulatory, Production, Sales, and Marketing teams to ensure timely project execution.
  • Maintain project documentation, timelines, and development records.
  • Compliance & Quality
  • Ensure fragrance formulations comply with IFRA guidelines and other applicable regulatory standards.
  • Support product stability evaluations and quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemistry, Perfumery, Cosmetic Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3–4 years of experience in fragrance development, fragrance evaluation, or product development within the fragrance, flavours, aroma chemicals, or personal care industry.
