Product Development Senior Design Engineer

OrangeLink Hiring for the position of New Product Development Senior Design Engineer on behalf of our client leading in Special Purpose machinery

Job Overview

 - Role: NPD Senior Design Engineer / Head Design

 - Department: Design & Engineering

 - Industry: Special Purpose Machinery / Capital Equipment Manufacturing

 - Location: Pune + Factory Locations

 - Reporting To: Managing Director / Plant Head

 - Software Skills Required: Autodesk Inventor & AutoCAD

Key Responsibilities

 - Lead and manage the NPD engineering team to deliver 0-defect machines within 2–4 month timelines.

 - Own the complete machine design lifecycle from concept development and detailed engineering to BOM release, manufacturing support, and customer site feedback.

 - Review and approve designs, drawings, calculations, GD&T, and technical specifications.

 - Prepare, verify, and release accurate BOMs through Tally, ensuring alignment with approved drawings and project timelines.

 - Conduct Root Cause Analysis for design, FAT, and field issues, implementing permanent corrections via ECNs.

 - Drive standardization, modularization, and CAD standards across the engineering function.

 - Collaborate with Production, Quality, Purchase, Stores, Electrical, Service, and Sales teams.

Required Qualification & Experience

 - Strong background in Special Purpose Machinery (SPM) or capital equipment manufacturing.

 - Hands-on expertise in Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD.

 - Proven experience managing, mentoring, and leading a team of design engineers.

 - Proficiency in drawing control, ECN systems, and BOM management in Tally.

 - Strong technical problem-solving skills and experience with root cause analysis.
