About Ossus

Ossus Biorenewables is building industrial systems that generate green hydrogen from industrial wastewater using proprietary technology. We are a hardcore engineering team focused on solving real-world industrial problems through practical, scalable hardware systems.

We work fast, build aggressively, test in real environments, and iterate continuously.

This is not a conventional corporate engineering role.

Role Overview

We are looking for a hands-on mechanical engineer who can take industrial hardware systems from concept to deployment.

You will work across the full product lifecycle:

• Concept development

• Mechanical design

• Prototyping

• Manufacturing coordination

• Assembly

• Testing

• Onsite commissioning

• Debugging

• Iterative improvement

You should be comfortable working in ambiguity, solving practical engineering problems, and taking ownership of systems end-to-end.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical systems and assemblies for industrial hydrogen and wastewater applications

• Create production-ready CAD models, fabrication drawings, and BOMs

• Work closely with vendors, fabricators, and machine shops to manufacture parts and assemblies

• Coordinate prototype builds and assembly

• Participate in onsite installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting

• Improve existing systems based on field feedback and operational learnings

• Ensure manufacturability, serviceability, and reliability of designs

• Manage mechanical integration with electrical, controls, piping, and process systems

• Develop practical solutions under tight timelines and changing requirements

• Maintain engineering documentation and revision control

Requirements

3+ years of experience in mechanical/product/system design

• Strong CAD skills (Fusion 360, SolidWorks, or equivalent)

• Experience creating fabrication/manufacturing drawings

• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and mechanical engineering fundamentals

• Experience building or deploying physical systems from scratch

• Ability to work directly with vendors and manufacturers

• Hands-on problem-solving mindset

• Willingness to travel to factories and industrial sites when required

Preferred Experience

• Industrial equipment or machinery

• Water/wastewater systems

• Process skids and piping systems

• Hydrogen or energy systems

• Automation systems

• Structural and welded assemblies

• Pumps, valves, and fluid systems

• DFMA and practical prototyping

• Field commissioning and troubleshooting

What We Care About

We care less about polished resumes and more about what you have actually built.

We value engineers who:

• Take ownership

• Work well in chaotic environments

• Are comfortable getting their hands dirty

• Can communicate with fabricators and technicians

• Solve practical problems quickly

• Learn fast and execute faster

What You'll Get

• Opportunity to build cutting-edge industrial technology from the ground up

• High ownership and direct impact on the product

• Fast learning and growth

• Exposure to full-stack hardware development

• Close collaboration with founding team

• Opportunity to work on real-world sustainability and energy problems
