What you'll do

• Phenom People is looking for talented and motivated Full-Stack Developers to join our Engineering team in Bangalore, Karnataka, India. The candidate who are self-driven, proactive, and have strong analytical skills. The ideal candidates will be experienced in quickly understanding and working with existing codebases decoding architectures, identifying patterns, and making meaningful contributions. You'll work on backend API development and some UI tasks, ensuring best practices, scalability, and maintainability are upheld. The candidate comfortable working in a fast-paced startup environment and have the ability to quickly learn new concepts while adhering to coding best practices (including unit testing).

Work Experience

What you've done

• Decode and Enhance Existing Codebases: Analyse, understand, and improve upon legacy and ongoing projects with minimal guidance.
• Backend Development: Design, develop, and maintain RESTful APIs using Node.js (or any backend language).
• Frontend Development: Implement UI features using AngularJS.
• Database Management: Work with MySQL, write optimized queries, and enhance database performance.
• Code Quality & Testing: Ensure clean, maintainable code and implement unit tests.
• Agile Development: Work in an Agile environment, attend standups, and collaborate effectively with the team.

Must-Have Skills:

• Learning & Decoding Ability: Strong aptitude for understanding and working with existing projects efficiently.
• Backend Development: Solid experience with Node.js / PHP / Java / Python.
• Frontend Development: Experience with AngularJS / React.JS.
• Database Expertise: Proficiency in MySQL, including writing complex queries and performance tuning.
• API Development: Experience in RESTful API design and best practices.
• Unit Testing: Hands-on experience with testing frameworks (Jest, Mocha, Jasmine, etc.).
• Version Control: Strong knowledge of Git & GitHub/GitLab.

Good-to-Have Skills:

• Cloud Platforms: AWS, Azure, or GCP experience.
• Containerization: Exposure to Docker and Kubernetes.
• CI/CD Pipelines: Experience with Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or similar tools.
• Security Best Practices: Knowledge of authentication, authorization, and API security.
• Frontend UI/UX: Experience with Tailwind CSS, Material UI, or Bootstrap.
