Role Overview
We're looking for a Design Lead who lives and breathes modern design tools especially Figma and actively integrates AI into their design workflow. You'll own the end-to-end design process for client-facing products, from discovery and wireframing through polished UI handoff. Initially an individual contributor, this role has a clear path to building and leading a design team as we scale.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and drive UI/UX design for web and mobile applications, as well as SaaS dashboards and product interfaces, from concept to developer handoff.
- Leverage AI-powered tools (Figma AI plugins like Magician, Relume; ChatGPT/Claude for UX copywriting and user flow ideation) to accelerate and elevate design output.
- Translate client requirements and product briefs into intuitive, visually compelling user experiences.
- Build and maintain scalable design systems, component libraries, and style guides in Figma.
- Collaborate closely with the founder, developers, and client stakeholders to ensure design feasibility and alignment with business goals.
- Conduct user research, competitive analysis, and usability testing to inform design decisions.
- Champion design quality and consistency across all projects, establishing best practices for the team.
- Stay current with the latest AI-powered design tools, plugins, and workflows and proactively integrate them into the team's process.
Must-have Requirements
- 15 years of professional experience in UI/UX and product design.
- Deep, expert-level proficiency in Figma including auto-layout, variables, components, prototyping, and dev mode.
- Hands-on experience using AI-powered design tools: Figma AI plugins (Magician, Relume, etc.) and AI assistants (ChatGPT, Claude) for UX writing, content generation, and workflow optimization.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating end-to-end product design for web apps, mobile apps, and/or SaaS dashboards.
- Solid understanding of design systems, responsive design, accessibility (WCAG), and front-end design constraints.
- Excellent visual design skills typography, layout, color theory, and micro-interactions.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, client-services environment managing multiple projects simultaneously.
NICE-TO-HAVE
- Experience with Framer, Webflow, or other AI-assisted prototyping/no-code tools.
- Familiarity with AI/ML product interfaces designing for data-heavy, model-driven experiences.
- Basic understanding of front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, React) for better developer collaboration.
- Experience mentoring junior designers or setting up design processes from scratch.
- Exposure to motion design or Lottie animations.
