Job Description

Aditi Toys Private Limited is a leading toy manufacturer based in Rajkot, India, with a focus on creating safe and high-quality toys that inspire imagination and cognitive development in children. Role Summary:-

We are seeking a creative and technically strong Product Designer who can take concepts from idea to final production. The ideal candidate should understand design for manufacturability (DFM), plastics design, toy mechanisms, and play value, and should be able to work closely with cross-functional teams such as Tool Room, Molding, QC, Assembly, and PPC.

Salary :- 60 to 70K CTC

Key Responsibilities

Product Concept & Design

  • Create innovative designs for plastic toys, die-cast toys, wooden toys, and promotional toys.
  • Develop sketches, 3D models, and prototypes using CAD tools.
  • Translate market requirements and trends into functional and child-safe toy designs.

Design for Manufacturing (DFM)

  • Design components suitable for injection molding, blow molding, ultrasonic welding, pad printing, and assembly.
  • Ensure proper wall thickness, draft angles, ribs, bosses, joints, and functional mechanisms.
  • Work with Tool Designers for mold feasibility, parting lines, gate locations, and tool cost optimization.

Product Development & Engineering

  • Prepare detailed drawings with GD&T and metrological specifications.
  • Work with QC to define critical dimensions, tolerances, and product safety requirements.
  • Evaluate prototypes and conduct design modifications after trials.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with R&D, Tool Room, Molding, QC, Pad Printing, Assembly, PPC, and Purchase.
  • Support trial runs, sample approvals, and production handover.
  • Troubleshoot manufacturing or assembly issues related to design.

Documentation & Standards

  • Prepare BOM, design specifications, part drawings, assembly drawings, and revision control.
  • Follow internal QMS, SOPs, and design standards.
  • Maintain strong documentation discipline for ERP and MIS.

Skills & Competencies

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in CAD software 2D & 3D.
  • Strong understanding of plastics design, toy mechanisms, and part engineering.
  • Knowledge of injection molds, mold flow basics, and DFM/DFT principles.
  • Experience in 3D printing and prototype evaluation.

Soft Skills

  • Creativity with strong visualization ability.
  • Problem-solving and analytical thinking.
  • Good communication and teamwork.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects with tight timelines.

Qualification

  • Degree in Product Design, Industrial Design, Plastics Engineering, or related field.
  • 5-7 Yrs. Experience in toy design is highly preferred.
  • Freshers with strong portfolios may be considered for junior positions.
