Job Description –Product Designer & Operations Manager- Holiday

Role Summary

Sage Holidays is looking for an experienced Holiday Product & Operations Manager who can independently develop domestic and international holiday packages, create detailed itineraries, negotiate with suppliers, and ensure seamless execution of bookings from inquiry to tour completion.

The ideal candidate should have strong destination knowledge, excellent operational expertise, and hands-on experience in contracting hotels, transport, sightseeing, and activity vendors.

Key Responsibilities

Product Development

  • Design and develop domestic and international holiday packages.
  • Create customized FIT, Family, Honeymoon, Group, Luxury, and Corporate Leisure itineraries.
  • Develop seasonal, festive, and special-interest travel products.
  • Research new destinations and identify emerging travel trends.

Costing & Contracting

  • Prepare package costing and profitability calculations.
  • Negotiate rates with hotels, DMCs, transport vendors, airlines, cruise companies, and activity providers.
  • Maintain supplier contracts and rate sheets.
  • Ensure competitive pricing while maintaining margins.

Operations Management

  • Manage end-to-end booking operations.
  • Coordinate hotel reservations, transfers, sightseeing, visa requirements, and travel documentation.
  • Ensure smooth execution of all travel arrangements.
  • Handle operational escalations and last-minute changes.

Supplier & Destination Management

  • Build strong relationships with hotels, DMCs, and destination partners.
  • Conduct regular market and supplier evaluations.
  • Source new vendors to improve product offerings and profitability.

Sales Support

  • Assist the sales team with itinerary creation and package customization.
  • Provide destination training and operational guidance.
  • Support large group movements, MICE, and corporate leisure requirements.

Required Skills

  • Strong knowledge of domestic and international destinations.
  • Expertise in itinerary planning and holiday package creation.
  • Excellent costing and margin management skills.
  • Experience working with DMCs, hotels, airlines, and destination suppliers.
  • Strong negotiation and vendor management abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple bookings and operational deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and travel reservation systems.

Preferred Experience

  • Minimum 3–5 years in a Travel Company, Tour Operator, DMC, OTA, or Hospitality Industry.
  • Experience handling international holiday operations.
  • Knowledge of visa documentation and travel regulations.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Number of new packages developed.
  • Package profitability and margins.
  • Operational accuracy and service quality.
  • Supplier savings and negotiated benefits.
  • Customer satisfaction and repeat business.
  • Turnaround time for itinerary delivery.

What Success Looks Like

The candidate should be able to independently create saleable holiday products, deliver accurate itineraries within deadlines, negotiate competitive supplier rates, and ensure flawless execution of every booking.
