Product Design & Development-Suspension

Key Responsibilities

. Define and design innovative suspension product concepts based on user needs and market requirements

. Conduct user research, benchmarking, and competitor analysis for automotive components

. Develop product concepts, layouts, and design solutions (2D/3D) with a focus on usability, performance, and manufacturability

. Collaborate with engineering teams (CAD/CAE) to translate concepts into detailed designs

. Ensure optimal ride performance, durability, and customer experience in product design

. Work on product lifecycle management from concept to production release

. Participate in design reviews, DFMEA, and validation planning (DVP/PVP)

. Support prototype development and testing to validate product functionality

. Partner with cross-functional teams (manufacturing, suppliers, quality) to optimize product cost and feasibility (VAVE)

. Ensure compliance with customer requirements, regulations, and industry standards

. Engage with customers/OEMs to gather feedback and improve product design

Key Skills

.Strong understanding of product design principles (functionality + usability + performance)

.Knowledge of automotive suspension systems (struts, dampers, springs)

.Ability to balance design, engineering constraints, and customer experience

.Familiarity with design validation, DFMEA, and lifecycle processes

.Exposure to materials and manufacturing processes (sheet metal, rubber, plastics, forging, etc.)

.Basic understanding of vehicle dynamics, NVH, and durability

.Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills

.Ability to work in cross-functional and global teams

Tools & Software Required

. Design Tools: CATIA, NX, Creo, SolidWorks

. PLM Tools: Teamcenter, SAP

. Analysis Exposure: FEA, vehicle simulation tools

. Other: MS Excel, IMDS systems
