Role Overview
General Aeronautics is building next-generation agricultural drone platforms that must operate with extreme reliability in real farm conditions. We are at a critical stage of growth where we are driving toward Product-Market Fit (PMF) and preparing to scale rapidly. We are looking for a Product & Customer Lead who will own the end-to-end customer journey and product roadmap, ensuring GA becomes the most customer-obsessed and execution-driven agri drone company in the market. This is not a requirements gathering role. This is a high-impact role where you will work directly with customers, field teams, and engineering leaders to define what we build, why we build it, and how we ensure it delivers measurable value in real operations. You will be the voice of the customer inside GA and the voice of GA's product vision outside.
Key Responsibilities
PMF Ownership & Product Strategy
- Own the PMF roadmap for GA's agricultural drone platform, including flight autonomy, mission workflows, payload execution, reliability features, and customer usability.
- Define product strategy and priorities based on customer needs, competitive intelligence, field learnings, and business goals.
- Translate GA's mission into a product roadmap that drives adoption, retention, and customer delight.
Customer Discovery & Field Immersion
- Spend significant time with customers, pilots, operators, and field teams to understand workflows, pain points, and operational constraints.
- Conduct structured customer discovery: interviews, ride-alongs, shadowing, and post-mission feedback loops.
- Build a deep understanding of customer economics: cost per acre, time per acre, uptime requirements, and ROI metrics.
Product Execution & Engineering Alignment
- Convert customer needs into clear PRDs, functional requirements, workflows, and measurable success metrics.
- Work closely with Flight Control, Autonomy, GCS, Payload, and Field Ops teams to drive execution.
- Ensure fast iteration cycles by maintaining high clarity and reducing ambiguity for engineering teams.
- Drive release planning and ensure feature rollouts solve real problems.
Customer Success & Operational Excellence
- Own customer onboarding experience: training, mission readiness, adoption support, and operational success.
- Define and monitor key customer success metrics such as mission success rate, uptime, incident rate reduction, customer satisfaction / NPS, and repeat purchase / renewal potential.
- Build scalable customer success processes and playbooks to support growth.
Feedback Loop & Continuous Improvement Engine
- Build systems to capture, analyze, and prioritize customer feedback using field data, logs, and support insights.
- Ensure customer issues are translated into actionable engineering improvements.
- Drive post-mortems for major failures and ensure learnings result in real product/process changes.
Cross-Functional Leadership
- Act as the bridge between Engineering, Field Ops, Sales, and Leadership.
- Drive alignment across teams on what matters most: customer outcomes.
- Lead customer-facing communication for roadmap updates, feature readiness, and operational best practices.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in Product Management, Customer Success, Field Operations leadership, or Technical Program Management in robotics, drones, mobility, agri-tech, industrial automation, or related domains.
- Strong ability to understand and translate complex technical systems into customer workflows and product requirements.
- Proven experience driving PMF or scaling a product in a fast-moving startup environment.
- Strong customer-facing skills: ability to build trust with operators, enterprise customers, and stakeholders.
- Ability to work hands-on with engineering teams and drive execution without micromanagement.
- Strong analytical thinking and comfort with metrics-driven decision making.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Skills (Good to Have)
- Experience working with agricultural customers, spraying systems, or rural deployment models.
- Exposure to drones, robotics autonomy, mission planning, or IoT fleet operations.
- Understanding of reliability engineering and field performance metrics.
- Experience building support workflows, training programs, and playbooks.
- Familiarity with telemetry/log-driven debugging and product improvement loops.
- Comfortable using modern AI tools (ChatGPT, Copilot, etc.) to accelerate productivity.
Key Attributes (Non-Negotiable for GA)
- Customer obsession: naturally thinks from the operator/farmer point of view.
- Ownership mindset: takes responsibility for outcomes, not tasks.
- Bias for action: moves fast, iterates quickly, and thrives in ambiguity.
- High energy and hustle: operates effectively in a startup environment where things change weekly.
- Strong judgment: balances innovation and reliability.
- Cross-functional leadership: aligns teams without formal authority.
What Success Looks Like
- GA achieves PMF through measurable improvements in customer adoption and mission success.
- Customers trust GA as the most reliable and easiest-to-operate agri drone platform.
- Product roadmap is tightly aligned with real field requirements, not assumptions.
- Engineering execution speed improves due to high clarity in requirements and prioritization.
- Customer feedback loops become structured, fast, and measurable.
- GA builds scalable onboarding and customer success playbooks ready for rapid scaling.
Why This Role is a Game-Changer
This role sits at the center of GA's next growth phase. You will shape what GA builds, how it performs in the field, and how customers experience the platform. You will directly influence the company's trajectory toward becoming the market leader in agricultural drone autonomy. If you want a role where your decisions directly impact real customers, real operations, and real business outcomes this is it.
