Product Cost Engineer

Key Skills & Expertise

• Strong background in Product Costing with Techno-Commercial and Design/Technical exposure
• Deep understanding of costing procedures, sourcing strategies, and cost drivers
• Skilled in cost negotiations, risk & opportunity tracking, and cross-functional collaboration
• Experience with Automotive Exterior, Interior, Chassis, and Electrical systems commodities
• Familiar with manufacturing processes, CAD, and PLM tools
• Excellent analytical and communication skills

Responsibilities

Cost Management:

• Track and update cost status, risks, and opportunities from program start to Job 1
• Lead cost-related trade-offs with cross-functional teams
• Collaborate with suppliers and cost estimation teams on quotes and engineering changes
• Conduct cost benchmarking and lead discussions for cost approvals and negotiations

Sourcing Support:

• Manage Supplier Involvement Requests (SIR) and ED&T governance approvals
• Verify and negotiate ED&T mountain charts with suppliers
• Support purchasing teams with SOBA plans and long-lead funding estimates
• Track tool and purchase order updates post-production release
