Position: Product Certification Auditor(cast iron products)

Location: India(Howrah, West Bengal, or in the surrounding areas), Homebased

The auditor role:

We are superb opportunity for a Product Certification Auditor to join part of our growing and exciting new Product Certification team.

As a BSI auditor you will support clients through their assessment process with us to achieve certification to Kite Mark and various Product Testing specifications. No two days are the same we see a wide range of clients from the very small to global brands in different industry sectors with opportunities to work on site and remotely.

You'll take clients through the audit process and once this is complete, you'll prepare a report and present your findings, ultimately helping our clients to improve.

For this role:

• We're looking for someone who already has a good level of knowledge and experience in external product certification assessment, ideally gained from a certification body or similar environment.
• we are looking for candidates with previous auditing experience or individuals coming from the manufacturing sector.
• Degree in Metallurgy, Production Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering
• At least two years of work experience involving management systems within the relevant sector
• You will need to be a great communicator, agile in your approach, resilient and supportive.
• For this role you'll need to bring industry knowledge in the manufacturing or construction industries (CPR), as well alongside your external auditing skills. Experience within steel casting/manufacturing, specifically manhole cover standards (EN 124) would be a huge benefits.
• We will need a candidate located in Howrah, West Bengal, or in the surrounding areas. because of the majority of our clients are based in the eastern region of India, so proximity to this area will be important for client visits and operational support.

Qualifications:

1. BS EN 124-2:2015

Part of the EN 124 series covering gully tops and manhole tops for vehicular and pedestrian areas.

• Part 2 specifically applies to cast iron products
• Defines:
  • Load classes (A15 to F900)
  • Design requirements
  • Performance testing
  • Marking and quality control
• Used for road drainage covers and frames.

2. BS EN 124:1994

Older version of the EN 124 standard.

• Covered manhole and gully tops for vehicular and pedestrian areas
• Later replaced by the updated EN 124 series (2015 onwards) which split materials into multiple parts.

3. BS EN 545

European standard for ductile iron pipes, fittings, accessories and joints for water pipelines.

Covers:

• Materials
• Dimensions
• Mechanical properties
• Coatings
• Testing requirements

Used for drinking water distribution systems.

4. BS EN 598

Standard for ductile iron pipes used in sewerage applications.

Includes requirements for:

• Pipes
• Fittings
• Joints
• Internal linings
• Corrosion protection

Designed for wastewater and sewer systems.

5. BS EN 124

A family of standards for manhole covers and gully tops used in roads, pavements, airports, etc.

The series includes different materials:

• EN 124-1: General requirements
• EN 124-2: Cast iron
• EN 124-3: Steel
• EN 124-4: Reinforced concrete
• EN 124-5: Composite materials
• EN 124-6: Polypropylene / plastics
