The Role
This is a dual-mandate position, split roughly 50/50 between two areas of work:
Product Management — You will work directly with the technology lead and engineering team to build out our AI-powered platform ecosystem. This means translating strategic vision into buildable specs, managing sprint cycles, defining acceptance criteria, and ensuring that what gets built actually maps to real workflows and real users. The immediate focus is on our creative production engine and the foundational knowledge layer that powers it. You will not be handed a fully formed roadmap — you will help create it.
Project Management — You will take ownership of client website builds and redesigns, replacing an existing project manager on the team. This means scoping projects, managing timelines and budgets, coordinating between design, development, and client stakeholders, running QA cycles, and ensuring on-time, on-spec delivery. You will be the single point of accountability for these projects from kick-off to launch.
What You Will Do
Product (approximately 70%)
• Work with the technology lead to map end-to-end workflows for creative generation and knowledge management, and extract product requirements from thoseworkflows.
• Write clear product specs, user stories, and acceptance criteria for engineering.
• Own the sprint backlog — prioritise ruthlessly, manage scope, and keep the team focused on what matters for the current milestone.
• Coordinate across internal stakeholders (strategy, creative, media) to ensure the products being built reflect how teams actually work, not how we imagine they work.
• Track progress against MVP targets and flag risks early.
• Help define and track product metrics — what does working look like for each module
• Maintain living documentation: product specs, architectural decisions, dependency maps, release notes.
Client Projects (approximately 30%)
• Own end-to-end delivery of client website builds and redesigns — from initial scoping and estimation through to launch and handoff.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for clients on project status, timelines, and deliverables.
• Create and maintain detailed project plans, timelines, and resource allocation schedules.
• Coordinate between design, front-end development, back-end development, content, and QA teams.
• Run regular standups and status calls; maintain clear documentation of decisions, change requests, and approvals.
• Manage scope creep firmly but diplomatically — know when to push back and when to accommodate.
• Conduct thorough QA and UAT processes before any client-facing delivery.
• Manage post-launch support, bug tracking, and iterative improvements.
What We Are Looking For
Must-haves
• 3–5 years of experience in product management, project management, or a hybrid of both — ideally in a digital agency, SaaS company, or technology startup.
• Demonstrated experience managing website development projects end-to-end. You should be comfortable discussing responsive design, CMS platforms, hosting environments, performance optimisation, and front-end/back-end workflows without needing everything translated for you.
• Ability to write clear, structured product requirements — whether that takes the form of PRDs, user stories, or detailed briefs.
• Strong working knowledge of agile/scrum methodologies. Not the ceremonial version — the practical version where you actually ship things.
• Excellent communication skills. You will be talking to engineers in the morning, clients in the afternoon, and leadership in the evening. You need to modulate accordingly.
• Comfort with ambiguity. The product side of this role involves building something new. Requirements will evolve. You need to be energised by that, not paralysed by it.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail. You will be juggling multiple workstreams simultaneously.
Strong-to-haves
• Experience with or exposure to AI/ML products, LLM-based tools, or knowledge management platforms.
• Background in app development (iOS/Android) project management.
• Familiarity with tools like Jira, Linear, Notion, Figma, and modern dev workflows (Git, CI/CD basics).
• Experience working in the digital marketing or advertising industry.
• Understanding of APIs, data pipelines, and platform integrations at a conceptual level — you do not need to write code, but you need to understand what is and is not feasible.
Nice-to-haves
• Exposure to creative production workflows — briefing, asset creation, review cycles, versioning.
• Experience with analytics/reporting platforms and dashboards.
• Any hands-on experience with no-code/low-code tools, CMS customisation, or prototyping.
What This Role Is Not
To set expectations clearly:
• This is not a pure strategy role. You will be in the weeds — writing tickets, chasing approvals, testing builds, and unblocking teams.
• This is not a traditional agency account management role. You are not managing client relationships at a strategic level — you are managing project delivery.
• This is not a senior leadership position. You will report into the technology and product lead and will have significant autonomy, but the strategic direction is set at a level above this role.
What You Get
• A front-row seat in building something genuinely new — not another dashboard or reporting tool, but a platform that rethinks how creative knowledge is captured, structured, and activated.
• The chance to work across both product and services, which means you build breadth fast.
• Direct exposure to leadership and strategic decision-making in a company that is actively transforming its business model.
• A lean team where your work is visible and your impact is tangible from day one.
