Procurement Specialist

Role Description: This is a full-time, on-site Procurement Specialist role based in Bengaluru. The Procurement Specialist will manage end-to-end procurement activities, including raising and tracking purchase orders, coordinating with internal stakeholders to understand requirements, and ensuring timely delivery of goods and services. The role involves identifying and evaluating suppliers, maintaining supplier relationships, and supporting contract negotiation to secure favorable terms. The Procurement Specialist will monitor inventory levels, analyze procurement data, and optimize purchasing strategies to support cost efficiency and quality standards. The role also includes ensuring compliance with company policies, maintaining accurate records, and collaborating closely with operations, finance, and project teams.

Key attributes:

• Experience in procurement covering both local and international purchases
• Must have experience coordinating with project teams, finance and stores
• Specialist ability to understand and source machine parts and electronic components, including reading technical specifications, drawings and BOMs
• Ability to identify the right suppliers and manufacturers for mechanical parts, electronics and machine sub-assemblies
• Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors
• Ability to source, negotiate and obtain competitive quotations
• Coordinate with logistics partners, freight forwarders and couriers, and manage multiple shipping contracts
• Take care of purchase orders, documentation and payment follow-ups before and after orders
• Manage import logistics, including shipping schedules, customs documentation and lead times
• Identify and mitigate risks in supply and delivery timelines
• Track costs, supplier and logistics performance, and inventory requirements
• Experience with ERP or inventory systems and submitting reports as required
• Ability to own purchase requests and work independently
• Ability to prioritise tasks under pressure
• Ability to work as part of a motivated and driven team

Skills required for the position:

• Strong technical background in electronics and machine building, with the ability to understand components, sub-assemblies and technical specifications
• Proven experience sourcing machine parts and electronics from local and global suppliers
• Must have worked in a manufacturing or machine-building environment, either at an OEM or at an end-user site
• Working knowledge of import/export processes, Incoterms, shipping contracts and vendor payment terms
• Excellent communication skills for dealing with suppliers, logistics partners and internal teams
• Solid organisational skills, including attention to detail and multitasking
• Proficient in MS Excel and English
