The Opportunity
Are you ready to execute critical purchasing activities and deliver the operational excellence that supports our global diagnostic innovations As our Procurement Specialist in Pune/ Mumbai, India, you will be responsible for the execution of foundational purchasing support activities. In this role, you will navigate enterprise tools and the purchase-to-pay process to meet business and project objectives in a fully compliant manner.
Reporting Line: The position directly reports to Procurement Operations Lead and is part of the wider Procurement Center of Excellence (CoE).
Wider team and stakeholders: Works closely with business partners and internal stakeholders in DOP across a multicultural, virtual setting.
Role Type: An operational role focused on executing end-to-end purchasing activities and supporting continuous improvement.
Impact: By efficiently supporting the procurement process and providing high levels of internal customer service, you ensure that stakeholder expectations are satisfied. Specifically, you are accountable for:
Operational Execution: Supporting the effective procurement of critical products and services in a timely and efficient manner.
Data & Documentation: Maintaining master data for materials and suppliers, executing workflows, and ensuring all relevant documentation (e.g., Supplier Due Diligence, Price Lists) is complete and available in SAP or respective systems.
Issue Resolution: Working with team members and business partners to mitigate any procurement or business issues and help achieve agreed business goals.
Policy & Compliance: Executing operational procurement activities in line with a responsible Procurement approach, utilizing tools, processes, and policy settings aligned with DOP business processes.
Performance Metrics: Contributing to the delivery of established customer service targets and metrics, tracking and monitoring these metrics where required, and escalating issues as they arise.
Continuous Improvement: Supporting the optimization of processes to consistently increase quality and efficiency standards.
Who you are
We look for self-driven professionals with a continuous improvement mindset who can develop innovative ideas and foster collaborative networks.
Education: A relevant university business degree is required.
Experience: 3 to 5 years of experience in operational/tactical Procurement processes. Experience working in a multicultural, virtual setting is required. Direct procurement experience is highly desirable.
Systems Expertise: Solid experience navigating SAP enterprise systems and procure-to-pay tools.
Industry Knowledge: Life science industry experience is highly desirable.
AI & Digitalization: You have a strong affinity to explore AI-driven solutions broadly, particularly regarding the digital transformation of operations (Digital 2.0 / Industry 4.0).
Mindset & Soft Skills: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to develop and maintain networks. You possess the ability to effectively communicate and influence stakeholders both verbally and in writing. You are also expected to demonstrate Roche Operating Principles daily-putting patients first, simplifying radically, acting as one team, and making an impact now.
Languages: Business-level fluency in English (written and verbal) is required German language skills are desirable.
