Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced MEP Procurement Specialist with strong expertise in handling procurement for Government Projects, Commercial Buildings, Institutional Buildings, and Hospitals. The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems procurement, vendor management, tendering processes, contract negotiations, and compliance with government norms and project specifications.

Key Responsibilities

1. Procurement Planning & Strategy

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies for MEP packages across projects.
  • Prepare procurement schedules aligned with project timelines.
  • Identify cost optimization opportunities without compromising quality and compliance.

2. Tendering & Vendor Management

  • Prepare RFQs, RFPs, and tender documents for MEP materials and subcontract packages.
  • Evaluate technical and commercial bids in coordination with project and design teams.
  • Conduct vendor pre-qualification and maintain an approved vendor database.
  • Negotiate pricing, payment terms, delivery schedules, and contractual conditions.

3. Government Project Compliance

  • Ensure procurement processes comply with government tender norms and statutory requirements.
  • Manage documentation in line with audit, vigilance, and regulatory standards.
  • Coordinate with government departments, consultants, and project management consultants (PMCs).

4. Technical Coordination

  • Work closely with MEP consultants, engineers, and site teams to understand BOQs, drawings, and specifications.
  • Ensure materials procured meet project specifications, industry standards, and hospital/institutional compliance norms.
  • Review technical submittals, approvals, and vendor drawings.

5. Cost Control & Budget Management

  • Monitor procurement budgets and control cost overruns.
  • Conduct comparative statement analysis and value engineering exercises.
  • Track price variations, escalation clauses, and contract amendments.

6. Supply Chain & Logistics

  • Ensure timely delivery of MEP materials and equipment to project sites.
  • Coordinate logistics for long-lead items such as chillers, transformers, DG sets, HVAC systems, and medical gas systems.
  • Resolve supply chain bottlenecks and vendor performance issues.

7. Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain procurement MIS reports and tracking systems.
  • Manage purchase orders, work orders, contracts, and vendor documentation.
  • Support internal and external audits.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering (preferred).
  • Certification in Supply Chain / Procurement Management (desirable).
  • 6+ years of experience in MEP procurement.
  • Prior experience in Government Infrastructure Projects, Commercial Buildings, Institutional Buildings, and Hospitals is mandatory.
