Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Procurement Lead to lead and manage procurement activities for a major petrochemical project. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing procurement strategies, managing supplier relationships, negotiating commercial terms, controlling costs, and ensuring the timely procurement of materials, equipment, and services in line with project requirements.

The ideal candidate must have extensive procurement experience in the petrochemical, refinery, or chemical industry, with a strong background in project procurement, contract management, supplier negotiations, and team leadership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with project objectives, budgets, and schedules.

  • Lead and manage the procurement team, ensuring efficient execution of procurement activities.

  • Oversee the complete procurement lifecycle, including RFQs, tender evaluations, commercial negotiations, purchase orders, and contract awards.

  • Manage sourcing and procurement of project materials, equipment, technical packages, and subcontracted services.

  • Identify, evaluate, and qualify suppliers, vendors, and contractors.

  • Negotiate pricing, payment terms, delivery schedules, and contractual conditions to achieve cost savings.

  • Coordinate with engineering, construction, project management, planning, and finance teams.

  • Monitor supplier performance, material delivery schedules, and procurement progress.

  • Identify procurement risks and implement appropriate mitigation strategies.

  • Ensure compliance with project specifications, company procurement policies, contractual obligations, and applicable regulations.

  • Manage variations, claims, commercial disputes, and contractual issues.

  • Prepare procurement reports, cost analyses, vendor evaluations, and management updates.

  • Identify opportunities for process improvement, cost optimization, and supply chain efficiency.

Education & Experience

  • Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Business Administration, or a related discipline.

  • 15-20 years of relevant procurement experience, preferably in large-scale petrochemical, refinery, or chemical projects.

  • Proven experience leading procurement activities for major industrial or EPC projects.

  • Demonstrated expertise in supplier negotiations, commercial evaluations, contract awards, and procurement planning.

  • Experience managing complex procurement packages, project schedules, budgets, and vendor performance.
