Job Summary
UPS is seeking an experienced Procurement Supervisor to support and drive Global Procurement initiatives. The role is responsible for providing leadership across procurement analytics, policy and compliance monitoring, reporting, process governance, and continuous improvement. The ideal candidate will work closely with Procurement, Finance, Business Functions, Operations, Procurement Technology, and other cross-functional stakeholders to identify risks and opportunities, improve procurement processes, and enable data-driven decision-making.
The role requires a strong combination of end-to-end Procurement knowledge, analytical capability, stakeholder management, process improvement and leadership skills.
Key Responsibilities
Procurement Analytics & Spend Management
- Lead and maintain Procurement reporting, analytics, KPIs, and management information for leadership.
- Analyze spend, purchasing, supplier, contract, travel, compliance, and transactional data to identify trends, risks, savings opportunities, non-compliance, and areas requiring corrective action.
- Monitor compliance with Procurement policies, purchasing controls, approved suppliers, buying channels, and governance requirements; support exception management, audit, risk analysis, and corrective-action processes.
End-to-End Procurement
- Support activities across the Source-to-Pay (S2P) and Procure-to-Pay (P2P) lifecycle, including Category Management, Strategic Sourcing, Catalogue Management, Purchase Requisitions, Purchase Orders, invoicing, and related processes.
- Support supplier onboarding, governance, performance monitoring, relationship activities, and analysis of supplier performance, spend, compliance, and service levels.
- Support contract tracking, compliance monitoring, renewal visibility, and related reporting; identify supplier or contractual risks and coordinate with stakeholders to resolve issues.
Process Improvement & Procurement Enablement
- Identify opportunities to simplify, standardize, automate, and improve Procurement processes, reporting solutions, workflows, and operational procedures.
- Partner with Procurement Technology and business teams to translate requirements into practical solutions and maintain clear business rules, reporting logic, and process documentation.
- Provide guidance and support to team members and contribute to capability development.
Data & Technical Responsibilities
- Design, develop, optimize, and maintain SQL queries supporting Procurement analytics and reporting.
- Analyze large datasets, perform data validation, and support query and reporting performance improvements.
- Collaborate with technical teams on Procurement data requirements and support applicable data governance and security requirements.
Knowledge And Skills
- Strong proficiency in SQL (mandatory)
- Hands-on experience with databases such as SQL Server or MySQL
- Solid understanding of database concepts (indexes, joins, normalization, constraints)
- Ability to handle large datasets and improve query performance
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Good communication skills to work with technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Reporting & Analytics: Power BI, Advanced proficiency in MS Excel or similar reporting
- Strong attention to detail, ownership, and compliance mindset.
- Experience in Procurement fraud monitoring, compliance reporting, or risk analytics would be an advantage.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of related experience
- Bachelor's degree in Procurement, Supply Chain, Business Administration, Finance, Analytics or a related discipline.
- Relevant professional experience in Procurement, Supply Chain, Category Management, Strategic Sourcing, Procurement Analytics, Compliance, Governance, S2P/P2P, or related functions.
- Prior experience leading projects, processes, analysts, or cross-functional initiatives preferred.
- Experience working in a global or shared-services environment would be an advantage.
