Where purchasing runs slowly today

Raw materials, solvents, packaging and utilities are bought through a mix of spreadsheets and emails. Approvals for hazardous goods carry extra paperwork, and export shipments sometimes wait on a missing document. Month-end accruals are a scramble. None of this is about whom to buy from. It is about the process, the data and the controls.

What you would run

• The requisition to purchase order to goods receipt to payment flow, including three-way match and exceptions
• Supplier onboarding, including statutory, safety and environmental compliance checks
• Purchase order templates, delegation of authority and approval routing in the ERP
• Import documentation coordination with the logistics team and customs agents
• Open-PO ageing, GRN-pending and accrual reports for finance
• Supplier performance data used by the category buyers in their reviews

Where you would help the plant most

Faster, cleaner paperwork means fewer production holds. You will agree lead-time standards with the stores head, set up auto-reminders for pending deliveries and keep a live view of material coverage against the production plan.

Experience we are after

Five to nine years in procurement operations, buying support or supply chain systems, ideally in chemicals, process manufacturing or exports. Strong ERP experience is essential, and a working knowledge of GST, customs documentation and hazardous materials handling will help. You manage a small team of procurement executives with patience and firmness.
