Job Description

Job Summary

The Procurement Manager (Civil) is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing construction materials, equipment, and services required for civil engineering and infrastructure projects. The role ensures cost-effectiveness, timely delivery, and compliance with quality standards while maintaining strong vendor relationships.

Key Responsibilities

Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with vendors and subcontractors for civil works materials (cement, steel, aggregates, tiles, fittings, etc.).

Prepare purchase orders and ensure timely delivery of construction materials to project sites.

Work closely with the project and site engineers to understand material requirements and specifications.

Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with storekeepers to avoid shortages or excess stock.

Conduct market research to identify pricing trends, new suppliers, and alternative materials.

Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies, budget limits, and quality standards.

Develop and maintain vendor databases, including performance evaluation.

Coordinate logistics, transportation, and delivery schedules for smooth site operations.

Verify bills/invoices from vendors in coordination with the accounts team.

Support cost-control measures and track savings achieved through effective procurement.

Qualifications & Skills

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering / Supply Chain / Procurement or related field.

Minimum 8–10 years of procurement experience in civil construction/infrastructure projects.

Strong knowledge of construction materials, suppliers, and market rates.

Excellent negotiation and vendor management skills.

Proficiency in MS Office and ERP/Procurement software (SAP, Tally, etc.).

Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
