Job Description

A Civil Procurement Manager oversees the end-to-end acquisition of construction materials, services, and heavy equipment, ensuring cost-efficiency, quality, and timely delivery. Key duties include managing vendor relationships, negotiating contracts, reviewing BOQs, and aligning purchases with construction project schedules. They typically require a Civil Engineering background and 3+ years of experience in construction or EPC projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supplier & Contract Management: Identify, evaluate, and maintain relationships with reliable suppliers; negotiate contracts, prices, and favorable payment terms.
  • Procurement Strategy: Develop cost-effective sourcing strategies for civil materials (steel, cement, aggregates) based on project plans and BOQs.
  • Logistics & Inventory Control: Monitor stock levels and ensure timely delivery of materials to construction sites to avoid project delays.
  • Compliance & Reporting: Ensure all purchases comply with company policies, local regulations, and safety standards; maintain accurate documentation.
  • Collaboration: Coordinate closely with project engineers, site managers, and finance teams to align procurement with schedules.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Experience: 35+ years in procurement, specifically within construction, real estate, or EPC companies.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in ERP software (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and knowledge of construction materials/methods.
  • Soft Skills: Strong negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.
