Strategic & Operational Procurement
. Develop and implement innovative, costeffective procurement strategies aligned with business objectives.
. Ensure purchasing activities support value creation, risk mitigation, and cost savings.
. Manage direct and indirect procurement activities.
Supplier & Vendor Management
. Build and maintain longterm relationships with key suppliers, especially in the steel industry.
. Compare vendor proposals based on pricing, technical specifications, and quality.
. Negotiate contracts and pricing to reduce costs and improve supplier performance.
. Communicate consistently with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials.
. Oversee development and management of contracts and longterm supplier agreements.
Team Leadership & Collaboration
. Lead and mentor a team of Buyers to ensure procurement goals are met.
. Collaborate with senior management to support overall business strategy.
. Drive transformational initiatives to enhance procurement capabilities and efficiency.Reporting & Compliance
. Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly procurement reports.
. Ensure adherence to safety, health, and environmental regulations.
MANDATORY - Experience working in procurement roles in steel plants.. Strong knowledge of steel industry equipment, components, and related parts.
. Ability to develop and manage effective supply chain processes, particularly for jobworkrelated orders.
. Experience in creating and maintaining supplier performance scorecards.
. Understanding of accounts payable process flow within procurement.
. Proven expertise in:
a. Strategic purchasing and procurement systems
b. Contract management and supplier relationship management
c. Cost reduction and valueimprovement initiatives
. Strong computer proficiency, especially Microsoft Excel and related procurement tools.
. Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field.
. 15+ years of progressive leadership experience in procurement within a manufacturing environment.
