Our integrated EPC team of 250 people across India possesses comprehensive in-house capabilities in Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and After Sales Services. We are developing Utility scale solar parks in Maharashtra, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Haryana. We work with international and national investors, offering various financing options such as PPA, Group captive PPA, EMI, and Leasing models.

Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Procurement Head - Utility Scale Solar Projects, located in Mumbai. The Procurement Head will be responsible to lead the procurement team, supplier evaluation, procurement, contract negotiation, and contract management. The role involves analytical tasks to ensure efficient procurement strategies and day-to-day management of procurement processes for ground-mounted solar projects.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Procurement Strategy & Planning

  • Develop and execute procurement strategies for all critical project packages in line with project timelines and budgets.
  • Coordinate with design, engineering, and project teams to finalize BOQs and technical specifications.
  • Plan material sourcing schedules and ensure alignment with project milestones.
  • Build and maintain an updated procurement tracker for all ongoing and upcoming projects.

2. Vendor Development & Management

  • Identify, evaluate, and onboard reliable vendors for solar PV modules, inverters, MMS, cables, transformers, and other project items.
  • Manage the end-to-end vendor relationship—RFQ floating, bid evaluation, price comparison, negotiation, and order finalization.
  • Maintain a vendor performance database, focusing on quality, delivery, and commercial performance.
  • Develop alternative sourcing channels to mitigate supply chain risks and ensure competitive pricing.

3. Commercial & Contract Management

  • Lead techno-commercial negotiations and prepare purchase orders and contracts in coordination with legal and finance teams.
  • Ensure all terms and conditions (payment terms, warranties, LDs, etc.) are commercially favorable and risk-mitigated.
  • Monitor vendor compliance with contract terms and proactively resolve disputes or delays.

4. Cost Control & Budget Management

  • Track and control procurement costs to ensure adherence to project budgets.
  • Conduct market intelligence and price benchmarking for key materials.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities through volume consolidation and long-term supplier partnerships.
  • Prepare monthly MIS reports and procurement dashboards for management review.

5. Logistics & Delivery Coordination

  • Ensure timely delivery of materials to project sites through close coordination with logistics partners.
  • Handle import procurement (if applicable), customs clearance, and inland transportation.
  • Track shipment schedules and proactively address bottlenecks to avoid project delays.

Key Project Packages to Manage:

  • Solar PV Modules and String/Central Inverters
  • Module Mounting Structures (Fixed / Tracker)
  • DC & AC Cables, Transformers, and Switchgear
  • Civil, Electrical & EPC Subcontracts
  • SCADA, Communication & Balance of System components, Robotic cleaning etc

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Education: B.E./B.Tech (Relevant streams)
  • MBA (Supply Chain / Operations) preferred but not mandatory.
  • Experience: 10–15 years of total experience, with at least 5+ years in procurement for large-scale ground-mounted solar EPC projects.
  • Proven ability to handle multi-MW solar project sourcing independently.
  • Hands-on experience with ERP/SAP-based procurement systems.
