Job Purpose
To procure project materials, engineering items, MRO (Maintenance, Repair & Operations) spares, and services required for smooth plant operations and project execution in an API pharmaceutical manufacturing facility.
Key Responsibilities
- Procure project materials, MRO spares, and engineering items as per purchase requisitions.
- Obtain quotations, compare prices, and negotiate with suppliers for the best commercial terms.
- Prepare and issue Purchase Orders (POs) in ERP.
- Follow up with vendors to ensure on-time delivery of materials.
- Coordinate with Engineering, Maintenance, Production, Stores, and Finance teams for procurement requirements.
- Develop and maintain a reliable vendor base.
- Monitor supplier performance and resolve delivery or quality issues.
- Ensure procurement activities comply with company procedures and applicable quality standards.
- Maintain procurement records and prepare periodic reports.
- Support cost-saving initiatives and inventory optimization.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering / Diploma
- MBA/PGDM in Materials Management or Supply Chain is an added advantage.
Experience
- 5–8 years of experience in Project and MRO Procurement, preferably in the Pharmaceutical API, Chemical, or Process Industry.
