Job Description

Procurement Executive

Responsibilities

A. Sourcing & Procurement

  • Responsible for sourcing all commodities, including electronic and mechanical components.
  • Make sourcing recommendations based on Total Cost of Ownership (TCO).
  • Provide proper documentation for management review, including total landed cost analysis (duty, freight, packaging, surcharge, payment terms, etc.).
  • Follow sourcing/procurement procedures and ensure compliance.

B. New Product Development (NPD)

  • Lead NPD activities through PPAP, ramp-up, and handover to the Purchase Team.
  • Coordinate with engineering, production, and suppliers for timely project execution.

C. Supplier Management

  • Guide the team in vendor price analysis and negotiations.
  • Manage and negotiate long-term supply agreements to improve cost, delivery, quality, lead time, technology, and risk mitigation.
  • Build robust processes for supplier contracts.
  • Promote cost-reduction activities with key suppliers and share best practices.

D. Cost Management & Improvement

  • Drive year-over-year cost reduction initiatives and achieve cost targets.
  • Conduct benchmarking, VA/VE, lean initiatives, and supplier resourcing with minimal assistance.
  • Develop annual business plans for cost reduction and performance improvements.

E. RFQ / RFI Management

  • Support the team in managing Request for Information (RFI) and Request for Quote (RFQ).
  • Review, analyse, and compare supplier quotations.

F. Team Collaboration & Support

  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to meet plant requirements.
  • Support other procurement work assigned by management.
  • Act as a strong team player and contribute to functional goals.

G. Technical Knowledge

  • Basic understanding of production processes such as machining, molding, pressing, plating, powder coating, etc.
  • Experience in procuring ICs, PCBs, and other electronic parts.

Skills

  • 46 years in procurement/supply chain of electronic components.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with individuals at all levels.
  • Highly organised and professional in representation and documentation.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to identify and resolve challenges.
  • Demonstrates intellectual capability, determination, and a thoughtful approach to day-to-day work.
  • Ability to deliver results in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
