Job Description

Job Title: Procurement Executive

Location: Rajkot

Reporting To: Procurement Manager / Head - Procurement

Company: Steel Manufacturing (TMT Bars manufacturer)

 

Job Description

 

1.     Identify, evaluate, and develop reliable suppliers for raw materials, machinery, and consumables as per company requirements.

2.     Build strong relationships with manufacturers and traders to ensure competitive pricing, quality assurance, and delivery timelines.

3.     Negotiate terms, pricing, and delivery schedules with suppliers to optimize procurement costs.

4.     Prepare and manage all required export documentation including commercial invoice, packing list, bill of lading, certificate of origin, inspection certificates, and LC/shipping compliance documents.

5.     Coordinate with freight forwarders, shipping agents, and CHAs for smooth export processing.

6.     Ensure compliance with Indian export regulations and Ethiopian import requirements.

7.     Plan and arrange the logistics of procured goods including container booking, shipment planning, and tracking of consignments until delivery at destination.

8.     Liaise with the logistics team at the HQ Ethiopia for timely updates, document submissions, and clearance support.

9.     Monitor freight costs, transit times, and ensure cost-effective shipment methods.

10. Maintain regular communication with Ethiopia procurement team and other stakeholders.

11. Maintain purchase records, supplier databases, and shipment tracking logs.

12. Generate weekly/monthly procurement and shipment status reports.

 

 

 

Qualifications & Skills:

·        Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Commerce, or a related field. (MBA preferred)

·        3–5 years of relevant experience in international procurement/export operations.

·        Sound knowledge of Indian export documentation and Incoterms.

·        Experience in working with Ethiopian or African clients (preferred).

·        Strong negotiation, communication, and vendor management skills.

·        Proficiency in MS Office, ERP systems, and shipment tracking platforms.

·        Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.

·        Ability to work independently and coordinate across countries.

·        High level of integrity and professionalism.

·        Willingness to travel if required.
