Procurement & Category Lead Construction / Interior Materials

About TapStock

TapStock is building a technology-led procurement and fulfilment platform for interior, architecture and construction products.

We're looking for a hands-on Procurement & Category Lead to build our procurement function from the ground up.

You will own what we sell, which suppliers we work with, the commercial terms we negotiate, and what inventory we keep.

What You'll Own

• Category Selection: Identify the right construction/interior categories and SKUs based on demand, margins and market opportunity.
• Supplier Sourcing: Identify, onboard and manage manufacturers, distributors, dealers and stockists.
• Commercial Negotiation: Negotiate purchase prices, credit terms, MOQ, rebates, returns, damages and other commercial terms.
• Assortment & Inventory: Decide what to stock in our initial 2,000 sq.ft. warehouse and manage replenishment, stock levels and slow-moving inventory.
• Vendor Performance: Track supplier pricing, fill rate, quality, delivery and credit performance.
• Procurement Economics: Improve purchase costs, margins and working-capital efficiency.

What We're Looking For

• 5–10 years in procurement, sourcing or category management.
• Strong hands-on procurement experience in construction / building / interior materials.
• Experience working with manufacturers, distributors, dealers or stockists.
• Strong vendor network and pricing/commercial negotiation experience.
• Experience managing multiple categories, SKUs and inventory.
• Good understanding of margins, working capital and replenishment.
• Comfortable working in an early-stage environment and building processes from scratch.

Relevant backgrounds: Construction Materials, Building Materials, Interior Materials, Hardware, Plywood/MDF, Laminates, Tiles, Sanitaryware, Electrical, Plumbing, Paints, Lighting, Furniture/Fixtures and related categories.

Why This Role

This is not a traditional Purchase Manager role.

You'll work directly with the founders and have significant ownership over categories, suppliers, pricing, assortment and procurement strategy as TapStock scales.
