Job Description

Job Title: Procurement Manager- Pharmaceuticals

Location: Bangalore, Karnataka

Organization: Allo Health

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced and driven Procurement Manager with a strong pharmaceutical background to own two functions:

  • On the private-label side, you will manage the end-to-end supply chain for medicines where we are the brand owner and marketer, working with third-party CDMOs from formulation through to dispatch.
  • On the procurement side, you will ensure the uninterrupted availability of the broader range of medicines our clinics need, sourcing through distributors, sub-stockists, and wholesalers at competitive costs.

The ideal candidate brings a solid understanding of the pharmaceutical supply chain, proven negotiation skills, and the ability to manage vendor relationships across both manufacturing and distribution. In the industry, these are typically distinct career tracks, most professionals start on the distribution side and move into manufacturing and private-label work with experience. We are looking for someone who has made that journey, or is ready to take it on.This is a foundational role with broad ownership. The right person will be comfortable building processes and relationships from the ground up while maintaining the rigor that pharmaceutical procurement demands.

Key Responsibilities:

Private Label & Contract Manufacturing:

  • Identify and onboard third-party manufacturers (CDMOs) for our private-label formulations across OTC and Rx categories
  • Own end-to-end product lifecycle, from formulation brief and stability testing to packaging, labeling compliance, and first dispatch
  • Negotiate manufacturing agreements on price, MOQs, lead times, and quality standards
  • Coordinate with regulatory and quality teams to ensure all products meet state licensing requirements
  • Monitor production timelines and resolve supply disruptions proactively
  • Build redundancy in the manufacturing base to reduce single-source risk

Branded Medicine Sourcing / Procurement:

  • Develop and manage a reliable network of distributors, sub-stockists, and C&F agents across geographies where we operate
  • Ensure uninterrupted availability of required SKUs while keeping inventory lean and working capital in check
  • Negotiate schemes, credit terms, and return policies with distributors and directly with pharma companies wherever possible
  • Track distributor performance on fill rate, credit compliance, and delivery TAT- replace or escalate when needed
  • Stay current on market availability, pricing trends, and stock situations

Inventory & Cost Management:

  • Define and maintain optimal inventory norms (min/max, reorder points) across both private-label and branded portfolios
  • Minimize expiry and dead stock; implement FEFO discipline across clinic locations
  • Analyze procurement data to identify savings opportunities, consolidate vendors, and improve margins

Clinic Operations Support:

  • Partner with clinic and operations teams on new location launches, ensure opening stock is procured and delivered on time
  • Build scalable procurement processes that can support rapid clinic expansion without proportional headcount growth

Key Requirements:

  • Experience: 5-15 years in pharmaceutical procurement, supply chain, or related roles
  • Strong exposure to pharma brands, distributors, and wholesalers
  • Experience with new product formulation supply chain and/or product sales is a plus
  • Proven track record in procurement, vendor negotiations, and inventory management
  • Strong understanding of pharmaceutical supply chain and regulatory requirements
  • Experience supporting pharmacy setup and operations preferred
  • Excellent negotiation, stakeholder management, and networking skills
  • Fluency in local language(s) for distributor coordination
  • Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy, Supply Chain, or related field preferred
  • Graduation year: Preferably 2005 or later

Why Join Us

  • Build procurement infrastructure from near-scratch in a high-growth healthtech company
  • Own both the brand-building side (private label) and the distribution side- rare scope for one role
  • Direct access to leadership and fast decision-making
  • Competitive compensation and growth opportunities

If you meet the above qualifications and are excited about this opportunity, we encourage you to apply!
