About The Team
The Portfolio Analytics team operates under Credit Administration and Infrastructure (CA&I) organization and plays a central role in understanding, monitoring, and anticipating credit risk across the Bank. The team works closely with management, business partners, data engineering, model risk management.
We possess both strong quantitative and technical skills to build and execute regularly scheduled and ad-hoc analyses that provide insights into the bank's loan portfolio quality, emerging risk trends and bank-wide impacts of changes in internal strategies and external economic conditions. We apply technical skills to create and maintain a reliable analytics environment in a data warehouse, enabling efficient data preparation, repeatable analysis, and scalable metrics development.
Impact
The role directly supports the bank's mission to maintain a strong loan portfolio by providing analytical oversight and quantitative insights into key risk models. The Model Analyst will become the model owner of several vendor and internally developed models ensuring they are aligned with well-established Risk Management Policies. The position is responsible for many aspects of credit risk models; development, updates, monitoring & interpreting performance, documentation, and addressing validation and regulatory findings. This position plays a critical role in connecting quantitative models with the bank's overall risk management framework.
Team members develop deep expertise in the Bank's underlying data & data models and apply advanced technical skills to prepare, transform, and analyze large, complex datasets for both analysis and model development.
Key Deliverables
- Serve as model owner for assigned quantitative credit models used in credit decisioning and risk management across all lending products.
- Develop a deep understanding of model methodologies, input & output data, assumptions and limitations through vendor and internal documentation.
- Create and maintain detailed internal model documentation.
- Design or enhance model performance monitoring framework, ensuring internal and regulatory compliance.
- Execute performance monitoring framework, including workflows built in Alteryx. Interpret and document results. Analyze and contextualize model outcomes using macroeconomic and portfolio-level insights.
- Develop and automate model performance reports, visualizations, and dashboards summarizing key findings and trends.
- Work closely with Model Risk Management (MRM) to ensure timely model review and compliance with model risk management standards and policies.
- Participate in model review cycles and provide analytical support. Remediate findings.
- Create and maintain comprehensive model documentation, including methodology, data source, assumptions, and change history.
- Establish and maintain relationships with Model Risk Management, internal auditors, and other key stakeholders.
- Develop a deep understanding of the bank's enterprise Datawarehouse and its data model.
- Guide the development and implementation of necessary data attributes that are not available in the bank's data warehouse.
Functional Skills
Skills and Qualification
- Strong analytical and quantitative reasoning abilities.
- Understanding of credit risk concepts, credit products, credit portfolio management theory and practice, model governance, and performance measurement.
- Ability to interpret and apply statistical performance metrics and tests.
- Strong communication and documentation skills to explain technical concepts to diverse stakeholders.
- Experience creating model performance monitoring reports.
- Curiosity, initiative, and adaptability to work in a developing framework with limited preexisting processes.

Technical/Business Skills
- Proficiency in modeling techniques (e.g., linear regression, logistic regression, time series model, machine learning) and performance metrics.
- Hands on experience using Python and SQL for data testing, extraction, transformation, statistical analysis, and data visualization.
- Experience with Alteryx or Tableau workflow automation is helpful.
- Familiarity with data visualization tools and reporting methods.
- Bachelor's or master's degree in a quantitative field (e.g. Mathematics, Statistics, Financial Engineering, Data Science, Physics or related discipline.)
- Ability to establish and maintain your technical environment.
- 10+ years of relevant experience in risk analytics, model development, or model performance monitoring.
Relationships & Collaboration
- Partner with Model Risk Management to ensure adherence to governance standards and to facilitate independent validation processes.
- Work with 1st Line business units to understand operational use of models and contextualize performance results.
- Collaborate with data and technology teams to ensure accurate data sourcing, workflow automation, and process efficiency.
