Job Summary:Responsible for process engineering activities including FEED, basic & detail design /engineering activities, execution, safety compliance, vendor coordination, plant commissioning, performance monitoring, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement initiatives to ensure efficient and safe plant operations.
Qualification & Experience:Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering & having 20+ years of relevant experience in Green H2 & NH3, Oil & Gas, Refinery & Petrochemical process engineering along with plant operations preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a team of Process engineers to ensure the department goals are met in line with Business unit goals.
- Plan and allocate tasks effectively among team members, monitor progress and ensure timely completion of assigned work.
- Perform basic and detailed process engineering review, simulations, and design calculations.
- Review PFDs, P&IDs, datasheets, and equipment specifications.
- Conduct process optimization and equipment sizing/selection.
- Review safety studies (HAZID, HAZOP, SIL) 3D model and ensure compliance.
- Review Cause & Effect Diagrams, Control and Shutdown Philosophies.
- Verify FEED design and associated calculations.
- Handle RFQs, vendor evaluation, and technical bid analysis.
- Monitor plant and equipment performance (compressors, pumps, exchangers, etc.).
- Implement energy-saving initiatives.
- Troubleshoot plant issues and perform root cause analysis.
- Prepare reports and coordinate with internal teams and external agencies.
- Ensure proper team coordination, work allocation, and productivity.
- Review operation and maintenance manuals.
- Provide necessary engineering inputs to cross-functional teams and departments.
- Review vendor documents including drawings, datasheets, specifications, and calculations.
- Prepare and review process related RFQs, evaluate vendor quotations and perform Technical Bid Analysis (TBA).
- Support and manage process-related activities during Pre-commissioning Commissioning Performance Guarantee Test Runs (PGTR) Plant operation phase
- Monitor and evaluate performance of key equipment such as compressors, pumps, catalysts, and heat exchangers
- Support plant operations in managing abnormal situations and process issues, troubleshooting and root cause analysis of plant trips.
- Implement and monitor energy conservation initiatives within the plant.
- Ensure smooth execution of process engineering deliverables during projects.
