Key Responsibilities

·        Develop and maintain Process Flow Diagrams, Block Flow Diagrams, mass and energy balances, and process simulations for the carbothermal reduction and feedstock purification process.

·        Translate laboratory-scale experimental protocols into robust pilot-scale engineering processes, accounting for thermodynamics, heat transfer, fluid dynamics, and materials handling at elevated temperatures.

·        Commission, operate, and optimise the pilot facility including high-temperature arc furnace systems, acid purification setups, filtration systems, pelletisation equipment, and inert gas handling infrastructure.

·        Perform CAPEX sizing, equipment selection, and techno-economic analysis for pilot and commercial scale process design.

·        Diagnose and resolve mechanical and process bottlenecks in real time across all unit operations.

·        Conduct Life Cycle Assessment and support sustainability reporting for grant bodies and investors.

·        Design and implement industrial safety protocols across the facility including chemical handling, high-temperature operations, and inert gas systems.

·        Support patent documentation by contributing process engineering data and innovation inputs as a co-inventor where applicable.

• Educational background in Chemical Engineering or a related field; knowledge of clean-tech innovations is a plus.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a results-driven mindset.
• Ability to collaborate across teams and communicate effectively in a professional setting.
• Familiarity with the regulatory landscape and environmental compliance policies is an advantage.
• Experience in industrial research, design, or implementation of sustainable processes is a plus.

Requirements

·        MTech in Chemical Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, or a directly related field.

·        Hands-on experience with pilot plant operations, high-temperature processing equipment including arc furnaces or equivalent, and downstream unit operations including filtration and drying.

·        Proficiency in process simulation tools, 2D and 3D modelling, and mass and energy balance calculations.

·        Strong understanding of thermodynamics and reaction engineering relevant to high-temperature inorganic processes.

·        Self-starter with a strong bias for fast execution and comfort operating in an early-stage environment with minimal hand-holding.

·        Notice period of one week or immediate joiner preferred.
