Role: Process Engineer - Battery Assembly.

About The Team And The Role
The ME - Assembly team at Ather is responsible for the continuous improvement, maintenance, and optimization of existing battery assembly processes.
This role is for a technical expert for the assembly line, ensuring production runs smoothly, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards while identifying and addressing bottlenecks and efficiency gaps.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze assembly line performance data to address bottlenecks, quality issues, and efficiency gaps.
- Lead continuous improvement projects using Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies to reduce waste and cycle times.
- Act as the primary technical contact for the assembly line, providing immediate troubleshooting and support.
- Conduct root cause analysis for assembly defects and equipment malfunctions, implementing effective CAPA.
- Manage the engineering change request (ECR) process, evaluating impacts on assembly processes and tooling.
- Maintain critical manufacturing documentation, including work instructions, process flow diagrams, and PFMEAs.
- Ensure all processes and products adhere to safety standards, quality requirements, and legal regulations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and suppliers to resolve quality issues and implement process improvements.
Experience And Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, or a related field)
- Experience in battery assembly or a similar high-volume manufacturing environment
Must Have Competencies
- Battery assembly process optimization and hands-on production line management.
- Application of quality management systems and tools including IATF 16949, SPC, FMEA, and 8D.
- Interpretation of complex engineering drawings and CAD models for manufacturing applications.
- Root cause analysis and implementation of Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) within assembly environments.
Good to Have Competencies
- Virtual manufacturing and digital work instruction creation using Vismockup and MPP planner.
- Design and troubleshooting of battery or vehicle manufacturing Special Purpose Machines (SPMs).
- Implementation of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and structured problem-solving methodologies.
- Utilization of NX and control systems understanding for manufacturing process enhancement.
