Lab-to-Production Scientist – Specialty Chemicals

Location: Greater Noida (production) / Delhi NCR (Lab)

About the Role

We are looking for a highly driven Lab-to-Production Scientist to bridge R&D and commercial manufacturing in the specialty chemicals domain. The role involves developing, optimizing, scaling, and commercializing organic and inorganic chemical technologies from laboratory stage to pilot and full-scale production.

The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on expertise in synthesis, process optimization, scale-up chemistry, troubleshooting, and manufacturing coordination. This is a techno-commercial execution role for someone who enjoys building products from concept to industrial deployment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and optimize specialty chemical formulations involving organic and inorganic chemistry.
  • Lead lab-to-pilot and pilot-to-commercial scale-up activities.
  • Design scalable synthesis routes and manufacturing SOPs.
  • Conduct process optimization for yield, cost, consistency, and manufacturability.
  • Handle reaction scale-up, process troubleshooting, and production validation.
  • Work on specialty additives, antimicrobial chemistries, silanes, metal-based chemistries, dispersions, coatings, polymer additives, and related systems.
  • Coordinate with production teams, vendors, toll manufacturers, and quality teams for commercial execution.
  • Establish QC parameters, batch consistency protocols, and process documentation.
  • Support technology transfer from R&D to manufacturing.
  • Evaluate raw materials, alternate chemistries, and cost optimization opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with EHS, regulatory, and industrial safety practices.
  • Maintain detailed experimental records, technical reports, and commercialization documentation.

  • Required Qualifications
    • M.Sc / PhD in Organic Chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry, Industrial Chemistry, or related field.
    • 1-3 years of experience in specialty chemicals, organometallic, organic molecules, advanced materials, additive, silanes or industrial chemicals.
    • Strong understanding of scale-up chemistry and industrial manufacturing processes.
    • Hands-on experience with:
    • Organic synthesis
    • Inorganic synthesis
    • Process development
    • Reaction engineering
    • Pilot plant operations
    • Process optimization
    • Chemical manufacturing
    • Experience handling reactors, industrial batch processing, filtration systems and QC
    • Ability to independently troubleshoot production issues.

    Preferred Skills
    • Experience in commercialization of new chemical technologies.
    • Knowledge of relevant chemistry used in additives of polymers and foams
    • Understanding of analytical techniques and COA development
    • Strong project ownership mindset with execution capability.
    • Entrepreneurial and innovation-driven attitude.
