Role Name: Process Analyst - Procurement (Contract Strategy & Execution)

Function Description:

Global Supply Management (GSM) is responsible for partnering with Amex colleagues to optimize their third-party spend. The team provides strategic consultation to the business while providing end-to-end procurement services. It maximizes the purchasing power of the enterprise to drive the best value from its supplier base which then frees up investment capacity for the enterprise. GSM, together with its business partners, manages the supplier strategy for the enterprise: identifying and on-boarding new third-party suppliers, realizing significant cost savings, and generating value through collaboration with GCS and GMNS.

About the Role

This hybrid-working role is expected to provide best-in-class sourcing and contracting process expertise, driving supply opportunities at competitive cost and quality, and ensuring optimal business value in alignment with American Express Management Policies.

The position is based in India and is primarily responsible for supporting the EMEA region (EMA aligned work timings). The role will work closely with various Category and Market Managers to ensure projects remain on track and are delivered to the satisfaction of key stakeholders.

This role is also expected to collaborate with cross-functional teams and multiple market stakeholders, ensuring consistent processes, high-quality service delivery, and seamless experience for business partners and category management teams.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

Work with internal and external stakeholders to understand requirements and support alignment with Procurement and Business objectives.

1. Support and execute sourcing and contracting activities that contribute to cost efficiency and business value.

2. Ensure downstream processes follow established global category strategies and guidelines.

3. Build and maintain effective working relationships with key stakeholders.

4. Assist in meetings to gather business requirements and support prioritization, timelines, and deliverables.

5. Engage cross-functional teams to support negotiation and sourcing decisions.

6. Provide coordination support during contract negotiations and act as an escalation point when needed.

7. Identify cost-saving and value-enhancing opportunities.

8. Monitor market trends in partnership with internal teams and suppliers.

9. Support assessment of spend optimization opportunities while maintaining supplier quality and service levels.

10. Uphold American Express Values by ensuring all work meets professional, legal, and ethical standards.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree

Preferred Qualifications

  • A degree in law will be a strong plus.

Experience

. 3-5 years of work experience

Preferred: Prior experience in procurement specifically related to supplier contract management
