Principal Well Engineer

This role acts as a leader for technical projects for external customers and Segments/Product Lines, and coordinates communication between clients, Product Lines and the GaffneyCline energy advisory Region team. This role will manage technical work for Well Engineering at various scales, taking responsibility for timely provision of high-quality deliverables, reports and presentations. The role will also support business development by acting as the global focal point for provision of technical and commercial input for proposals, and preparation of presentations on behalf of GaffneyCline and Segments/Product Lines.

As a Principal Well Engineer, you will be responsible for:

  • Providing Well Engineering analysis and simulation using appropriate, state-of-the-art techniques and software to provide Best-In-Class solutions for the external and internal client. May also use awareness or experience across other disciplines to contribute to projects.
  • Leading analytical and design activities using proven technologies and vested approaches and methods.
  • Providing routine client follow-up and project delivery. Leads and coordinates technical input to client proposals.
  • Projecting manages, peer reviews and participates in single discipline and integrated projects. Writes and presents industry papers and publications.
  • Recognizing as a global level contact to the customer for a product/service or set of products/services.
  • Acting as the global focal point for development, implementation, or optimization of a deliverable, service, technology, workflow or process.
  • Acting as a key contact to the customer for a product/service or set of products/services.
  • Assisting with and/or co-facilitates formal internal training courses alongside certified instructor as applicable

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Have Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 10 years of experience in Engineering/Technology). Minimum of 5 additional years of experience in Well Engineering
  • Have Demonstrates extensive knowledge of Well Engineering topics and ability to speak with clients about Well Engineering applications.
  • Have Demonstrates proficiency in Well Engineering software such as WELLCAT, WELLPlan, DrillBench, PROSPER, PERIFOR, etc
  • Have Working experience in multiple regional petroleum basins/provinces and understand their geological settings and reservoir complexities
