We are looking for a Principal Test Architect (15+ years) to lead and oversee QA Automation initiatives from the Happiest Minds side. This role requires strong technical depth in Playwright and JavaScript, end-to-end ownership of the automation track, and the ability to scale and sustain automation frameworks for complex enterprise programs.
The ideal candidate will act as a technical leader, mentor the team, drive best practices, and ensure delivery meets or exceeds customer expectations.
Key Responsibilities
- Take complete ownership of the QA automation track for assigned engagements.
- Analyse the existing automation framework, identify gaps, and drive enhancements to ensure scalability, stability, and maintainability.
- Design and implement robust, scalable automation solutions using Playwright and JavaScript.
- Drive automation strategy, standards, and best practices across projects.
- Actively guide and mentor automation engineers, ensuring strong technical ownership and accountability within the team.
- Proactively pick up critical tasks, troubleshoot complex issues, and lead by example.
- Ensure automation deliverables are aligned with customer expectations, timelines, and quality benchmarks.
- Collaborate closely with delivery leadership, architects, and customer stakeholders.
- Think beyond immediate tasks and propose sustainable, long-term solutions for both the customer and the team.
- Support continuous improvement and readiness for larger, future automation engagements.
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong hands-on experience with Playwright and JavaScript for test automation.
- Proven experience in analysing, designing, and scaling automation frameworks.
- Deep understanding of E2E testing, test architecture, and automation best practices.
- Experience leading automation teams and driving delivery in fast-paced, high-pressure environments.
- Ability to independently handle ambiguity and dynamically evolving requirements.
