Principal Technologist - AI

Role Summary
As a Principal AI Technologist at Infosys, you will serve as a senior technical leader and strategist, driving AI innovation and transformation for global clients in the financial services sector. This role is pivotal in shaping enterprise AI architecture, building an AI-first Innovation Hub, and delivering scalable AI solutions that enhance operational efficiency, customer experiences, and business outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- AI Strategy and Architecture: Design and architect end-to-end AI solutions, including generative AI (GenAI), machine learning models, natural language processing (NLP), and multi-modal transformers. Focus on integrating AI with data pipelines, cloud platforms (e.g., AWS), and governance frameworks to support banking transformations.
- Client Collaboration and Delivery: Lead AI engagements for financial clients, by developing agentic AI ecosystems that streamline operations, enhance fraud detection, personalize customer interactions, and optimize risk management. Ensure solutions are scalable, secure, and compliant with regulatory standards like GDPR and banking-specific guidelines.
- Innovation Leadership: Drive the adoption of emerging technologies, including quantum computing elements in AI, speech processing, and model observability. Contribute to Infosys's AI Innovation Hub initiatives, prototyping AI-powered applications for banking scenarios like real-time analytics and automated decision-making.
- Team Mentorship and Knowledge Sharing: Mentor delivery teams, conduct technical reviews, and foster a culture of innovation. Collaborate with data engineers, architects, and business analysts to build high-performance AI models.
- Business Impact and Transformation: Identify opportunities for AI to generate revenue, reduce costs, and improve resilience in banking environments. Lead proof-of-concept (PoC) projects, measure ROI, and scale successful implementations, drawing from Infosys's partnerships.
- Research and Development: Stay ahead of AI trends, publish insights, and contribute to Infosys's intellectual property in AI for financial services.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field. Advanced certifications in AI/ML are preferred.
- 15+ years of IT experience, including 10+ years in AI, data analytics, and engineering roles.
- Proven track record in leading AI transformations in financial services or banking, with experience in high-stakes projects like digital innovation hubs.
- Strong expertise in AI frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch), data processing tools (e.g., Spark, Hadoop), and cloud-native architectures.
- Experience with GenAI, NLP, quantum-inspired AI, and multi-modality models.
- Excellent communication skills for engaging with C-level executives and cross-functional teams.
Preferred Skills
- Experience of leadership role in Global capability center (GCC) will be added advantage.
- Domain knowledge in banking/financial services, including regulatory compliance, customer analytics, and risk modeling.
- Familiarity with enterprise level ecosystems like Topaz Fabric for agentic AI.
- Experience in agile methodologies, DevOps, and CI/CD for AI deployments.
- Ability to handle large-scale data pipelines and ensure AI governance, ethics, and observability.
