The GreyMatter is GreyOrange's AI orchestration layer that automates Warehouse Execution Systems (WES). Currently operating 50+ fulfillment sites across the globe (with 700+ robots at a single site), it enables customers to decrease their fulfillment Cost Per Unit by 50%, reduce worker onboarding time by 90%, and optimize peak season performance. The GreyMatter platform provides vendor-agnostic fulfillment orchestration to continuously optimize performance in real time: the right order, with the right bot and agent, taking the right path and action.
Role Overview
We are looking for a Principal TPM to drive our most complex, cross-functional technical initiatives from core orchestration engine capabilities to large-scale customer go-lives spanning software, robotics integration, and operations. You'll operate at the intersection of engineering, AI/ML systems, product, robotics integration, warehouse operations and business strategy; translating ambiguous, high-stakes problems into clear execution plans, and holding teams accountable to outcomes rather than just outputs. This is a senior IC role for someone who thrives on ambiguity, has deep technical fluency, and can influence at every level of the organization without relying on formal authority.
Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end program strategy and execution for GreyMatter's largest initiatives, e.g., new orchestration engine capabilities, multi-site customer deployments, robotics fleet integrations, WES/WMS interoperability programs
- Partner with engineering, product, data science/ML, and GreyOrange's hardware/robotics teams to define scope, sequencing, and success metrics across programs that touch software, algorithms, and physical infrastructure
- Coordinate technical readiness for customer go-lives and warehouse rollouts, working closely with Solutions Engineering, Deployment, and Customer Success to de-risk launches on live operational floors
- Identify technical, integration, and operational risks across the orchestration stack (real-time decisioning, robot/conveyor/WMS integrations, edge-cloud architecture) before they become blockers
- Build and evolve program management frameworks, rituals, and tooling that scale with GreyMatter's engineering org and the pace of customer deployments
- Act as a thought partner to engineering leadership on architecture tradeoffs with cross-system impact (e.g., latency-sensitive orchestration decisions, fault tolerance for warehouse-floor systems)
- Communicate program status, risk, and technical tradeoffs clearly to executive stakeholders and, at times, enterprise customers
- Mentor other TPMs/PMs, raising the bar for program rigor and technical depth org-wide
- Drive retrospectives on major programs and incidents (including production/live-site issues), converting learnings into concrete process and architectural improvements
- Represent the voice of execution in planning cycles, ensuring roadmaps are technically grounded, realistically sequenced, and account for hardware/deployment dependencies
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Software Engineering or equivalent
- 10+ years in technical program management, engineering, or a related technical discipline, with experience leading complex, multi-team programs at scale
- Strong technical fluency across distributed systems and real-time/near-real-time architectures; comfort reading system architecture and engaging deeply in design reviews
- Experience with (or strong aptitude for learning) systems that bridge software and physical operations (robotics, IoT, industrial automation, supply chain/logistics tech, or similar)
- Track record owning ambiguous, cross-functional programs spanning multiple engineering teams and, ideally, customer-facing deployment teams
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to translate deep technical complexity for engineers, executives, and operationally-minded customers
- Experience influencing senior stakeholders without direct authority
- Comfort with incomplete information, shifting priorities, and the operational stakes of live production systems
Preferred Qualifications
- Technical knowledge and/or prior experience in warehouse/supply chain tech, robotics, WMS/WES systems, or AI/ML-driven orchestration or planning systems
- Masters of Science in Software Engineering or equivalent
