Role Description
We are seeking a seasoned Principal Architect to lead the technical design of a high-stakes digital transformation initiative for a State Government. This is a high-visibility role involving the creation of a secure data and intelligence backbone that will serve as the foundation for state-wide transparency and efficiency.
This project offers an adventurous stint for an architect who thrives on complexity and wants to see their work impact millions of citizens. You will be at the forefront of designing secure, scalable enterprise systems and navigating the technical nuances of public sector procurement and policy.
Core Responsibilities
- System Architecture & Design: Lead the high-level design of functional and technical requirements for massive government enterprise platforms, including human resource and asset management systems.
- Secure Data Backbone: Design enhancements for the State's existing Data Exchange, leveraging global best practices.
- Strategic Procurement Support: Drive the technical side of the RFP process, including developing terms of reference, defining evaluation criteria, and conducting technical scoring for major System Integrators.
- Cybersecurity Governance: Architect the governance and operations framework for a state-level cybersecurity team, defining their charter and responsibilities.
- Technical Policy Input: Provide critical technical benchmarking and inputs to help draft State Data Policies and governing Acts, focusing on data classification and lifecycle management.
- Implementation Roadmap: Develop a comprehensive technical roadmap with clear outcomes defined across 6-month, 1-year, 3-year, and 5-year horizons.
Qualifications
- Experience: 510 years of experience in enterprise-grade architecture, with a proven track record of designing secure, scalable systems.
- Technical Expertise: Deep understanding of building scalable systems.
- Government Sector Exposure: Prior experience working on state or central government consulting projects is highly preferred.
- Consultative Skills: Ability to translate complex business needs into technical blueprints while managing diverse government stakeholders.
- Strategic Thinking: Familiarity with global data policy benchmarks and the ability to apply them to regional digital infrastructure.
