Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Principal Systems Engineer to lead the design, development, and integration of complex software and hardware systems. This role requires deep systems engineering expertise, strong leadership skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively across technical and business teams.

You'll play a key role in guiding projects through their entire lifecycle — from concept and architecture through integration, verification, and delivery — ensuring alignment with customer needs and organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and guide technical teams through requirements decomposition, system design, and integration activities.
• Provide technical oversight to ensure all designs align with project and customer specifications.
• Develop creative solutions to complex engineering challenges.
• Serve as a technical consultant and subject matter expert across programs.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure technical and operational success.
• Mentor and develop junior engineers, fostering technical and leadership growth.
• Lead risk assessments, trade studies, and system modeling to support decision-making.
• Develop and oversee system verification and validation plans.
• Contribute to proposal efforts, system architecture design, and cost estimation.
• Stay current with emerging technologies and drive continuous improvement of systems engineering practices.

Required Background & Experience:

• Minimum 8 years of experience in a software-driven technology environment.
• Proven experience working on complex system engineering projects.
• Strong background in Systems Engineering or Solution Architecture.
• Experience in team-level leadership for development or integration projects.
• Familiarity with both Waterfall and Agile development methodologies.
• Awareness of software engineering best practices and ability to enforce technical standards.
